I have always loved animals, all animals. That's how I earned my nickname. I could never support the Burlington County Animal Shelter in the past as they were a kill shelter. Not because I didn't want to help the animals there. I just didn't believe in their philosophy when there are so many no kill shelters that really needed aid. Well, the Burlington County Shelter has become no kill over recent years and has partnered with Best Friends. But are they really no kill? Not according to the many volunteers I have spoken to over the past year. Apparently the director only has in her heart to feel compassion to dogs. Sorry, but what a heartless B. All animals have souls and deserve a home. No kill means just that and the volunteers I have spoken with stay there for the cats who are just as loving and needy, as difficult as they find it when the director gives them their execution date. These are not unhealthy cats with no chance of survival and totally against the policy of Best Friends. There should be an investigation and the director should be replaced with someone who truly encompasses the No Kill policy. Maybe this shelter needs to take a lesson from the AWA.
