Very disappointed with this rehabilitation center....

Very disappointed with this rehabilitation center. I found a sparrow nestling, which means that it was still blind and without feathers. I was unable to find a nest anywhere, so I brought it inside and kept it warm and fed it every hour throughout the night until this center opened. I called them as soon as they opened and explained the situation. They told me to drive the hour down to bring him in and they would do everything that they could. Once I got down there and they took him from me to examine him, they informed me that they did not have 24 hour care and he probably would not make it. I had no problem giving him the 24 hour care and had the necessities, however they refused to give him back. When I called back later, I was told that they had put him down because he needed to be cared for continually and they didn't have the time. While young and needing constant care, I know that this bird was healthy and improving, as he was eating, pooping, moving (he was such a little wiggler!), and chirping. I am beyond disappointed, as I expressed explicitly that I wanted to care for the bird, however they refused to give him back only to kill him. I would give this center a lower rating, unfortunately one star is the lowest available.
