This review reports a service concern after a recent appointment at Toyota Sunnyvale.

Our 2007 Toyota needs oil change every two weeks. It is expensive & inconvenient. We are in the Toyota Oil Consumption Check program. Without completing the checks from Toyota Sunnyvale, we cannot proceed to repair.

Today the car was brought back for the last oil check. Despite the car's history, the service rep declined to do any work on the grounds that the mileage was 10-15% short of the 1100 miles since last oil check. He read some numbers off screen. He cited rules & regulations from Toyota Corp. And I should bring the car back after another 100+ miles.

I suggested he should explain how that's safe also to my family. The rep changed his mind before he could finish the call. His suggestion would have cost time and raised safety concerns. It was not a serious suggestion and was not made in a serious manner.

The rep later acknowledged the test was a big "Fail". The car now needs oil change every 500 miles. The check is timely. To postpone is not safe.

He then would not produce a ticket to the porter to release the car. His action inconvenienced his own co-worker and customer. While we waited, his comment was "No big deal".

Prepare to push back robustly at this place. "We are here to help." Don't count on it.
