Kevin Raus Review of Skybrook Golf Course

A friend and I played this course over the weekend. To be honest, it looked nice from the outside, but for a $30 green free, I was genuinely disappointed by a play-ability of the course. For instance, the rough on either side of most fairways was so thick and tall that if you didn't hit your tee shot into the fairway, there was a good chance you would not be able to find your ball in the rough on any hole. I shuffled my feet through some rough close to the tee box on hole 10 and found at least 3 golf balls that were impossible to see otherwise. Many of the fairways were also covered with what looked like bird droppings and what we could only assume were clods of cut grass. I think we took the biggest issue with the condition of the greens. Nearly all of the greens were more dirt than they were grass; causing the greens to play surprisingly fast, only for the ball to come to a standstill when it hit what was essentially mud. That being said, I do not want to sling mug or besmirch the name of this course. I simply want to express my displeasure with the state of the grounds and the seemingly high price that I paid for a round of golf on a course in such a shape that day.
