If negative stars were a possible review, this would be the place to leave them. Visited this resort at the tail end of peak season - stayed 3 nights and the laundry list of audacities encountered is almost infinite: Restaurants that opened at will without set hours or sometimes not even at all. Severely limited staff. Check in lines that were over an hour long. Check out lines that were over 1/2 an hour long. Complete absence of normal hotel amenities including replacement of towels, toiletries during room turnover. Taxi booking charges that more than quadrupled the price of the actual taxi ride. A single masseuse for the entire resort, which makes servicing customers close to impossible. Dirty sheets, towels. Poorly kept grounds. Sidewalks overrun with weeds and in complete disrepair. Ungroomed beach riddled with sand flies. Dilapidated tennis courts without any nets. Subpar culinary options and severely subpar food hygeine standards - we were handed food from another client's table after said client's use! Poor service - staff at breakfast seemed shocked to be asked for coffee or tea; staff cleaning rooms were shocked to be asked for replacement towels. Inconvenient location - a minimum of 30 minute commute to any restaurant/attraction/town - there is no reasonably priced transportation option to/from this resort and the airport, main town, or other main attractions; the hotel insists on booking taxis for individual outings at 4X the going rate for the taxi service and the doormen/bellmen will harass any driver or taxi that is privately hired without them. Not certain from where higher ratings for this location are coming but having utilized reviews in our decision making process to stay here ourselves, we were utterly appalled at the discrepancies.
