If you decide to have a parent reside at Baywinde, know that they increase your rent yearly at 5% Why? You are already paying a costly premium to live there. Plenty of landlords do not raise rents by 5% every year. Who gets a raise, at their job, of 5% every year? Do any of our bank accounts earn 5% per year? This adds up greatly to the point where you feel overcharged and ripped off. DO THE MATH !
If this is a senior living community, you would expect to live there until your time. This isn't the case.
It could become unaffordable and over budget for your family. It did for ours. We had no choice but to move Mom out after her living there for only three years. This was painful for our Mom. She had made many good friends there. Come to find out they lose many other residents for just this reason. - Being priced out. Very sad. What appears to be a loving-home community for your parent, is actually big business.
Their services and staff are terrific. The place is clean and well kept. But please be aware....5% per year, every year adds up greatly.
