I don't often frequent the theatre, but I am so glad I decided to go to the Goodman to see A Christmas Carol last year. I had a wonderful experience, and I didn't pay a crazy amount for the "best" seats. We sat on the second level, had a great view of everything, and could hear everything just fine. They had a bar set up in the lobby and little shops to look at or purchase while you were waiting. The event was well organized, as it was easy to find our seats and get settled in before the play began. The staff were well trained and obviously knew what they were doing when it came to guiding us to they correct entrance for our seats.
At the end of the performance (which was fantastic - I'm not going to ruin it for you, just go see it) they had carolers in the lobby as we left, which was a nice way to keep the experience going, as we transitioned mentally, emotionally, and physically from the warmth and comfort of the theater to the wintry streets of Chicago.
