Wonderful facility and medical staff. Pleased with the office staff, appointments, medical diagnosis, explanations of our sons condition and recommendations for treatment. We would go back again...but, watch out for the billing department . We got a call a few days before an outpatient surgery and was shaken down for a pre-payment. Under normal situations with a transparent and honest organization, this should have been no big deal. The estimated costs of the procedure were significantly exaggerated and in no way aligned with the estimated costs that my insurance company provided. It s not a requirement to pre-pay but I felt it was reasonable to pay a bit up front. 3 months later after the procedure and recovery, the bill shows up. The invoiced cost for the procedure was 1/5th the cost that was dictated to me (just about exactly what the insurance company told me to expect). It gets worse . The pre-payment was not applied to the invoice. There was no paper trail anywhere. It took a 20 minute call for them to decide that the hospital actually owed us money, not the other way around. Keep your records straight and organized, because they aren t. Don t pre-pay for any procedure at CCMC, they can t keep track of your money!
