Jonathan Carey Review of Cedar Ridge Preserve
Love. This. Park.
Love. This. Park.
For being in Dallas, you couldn't ask for better. The park is almost always crowded and there is never complete silence because of the nearby highways but it's unrealistic to ask for those things from a park in such a large city.
There are plenty of paths to hike and once you get on the trails, you will find space to yourself, maybe running into a few people along the way. Pro-tip: the shorter trails usually have fewer people on them.
The scenery is beautiful, featuring several trickling streams, expansive views of a nearby lake, a small pond, and much more. Some of the trails are moderately demanding in terms of length and elevation change.
This park has my highest recommendation for anyone who needs a day hike but doesn't want to leave Dallas.
