GREAT HOTEL + GREAT STAFF = EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE

GREAT HOTEL + GREAT STAFF = EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE

Summary:

The family wanted to get away for Thanksgiving but we didn't want to travel far so we decided to visit San Francisco. We chose the Ritz in Union Square because it was close to a lot of places that we wanted to visit. From the minute we arrived at the hotel to when we left we felt very welcomed by the staff and they did an amazing job treating my family very well. My review will be summarized in different groups and I hope that it will help others make their decision easier when considering the hotel.

Room:

We were greeted with a welcome card from the staff that included chocolates and cookies for me and the wife and they had gifts for the kids. This was very unexpected but very much appreciated. They not only delivered it on the first day, they also delivered stuffed animals to my kids during the trip. I can't say thank you enough to the great staff at the Ritz.

Our room was great because we had a view of the front that included the Christmas tree they had on top of their entrance. The staff upfront was very kind and they upgraded our room when I asked. Our room was very clean, internet was very fast, TV had adequate channels and they had many selections for food purchases in the room although we didn't get anything. The only thing I would ask them to improve on is the lighting because we felt it was very dark in the room.

STAFF:

The staff was all very friendly and welcoming from the people upfront, room service, restaurants and the bell boys. I feel really bad that I don't remember any names other than a very friendly young lady named Alex at "The Lounge Restaurant" who did such a great job serving us.

FOOD:

We had three options available for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was at all three restaurants.

THE LOUNGE(Lunch)

The best thing about this restaurant was how accomodating they were to my wife who has a gluten allergy. They made her a special dish and she was very appreciative and said it was one of the best pasta dishes she has had that was gluten free.

There were very few options at the restaurant so I enjoyed pizza and chicken tenders with the kids, but since they made my wife happy I really didn't care.

PARALLEL 37(Breakfast)

The pancakes here are to die for. My son and I had the buttermilk pancakes two days in a row because they were so good. Daughter had avocado and toast and the wife had boiled potatoes and unfortunately they didn't have much for her but that's expected so we understand.

ROOM SERVICE:

The room service we also had pancakes and they were very hot at arrival and once again were an excellent choice. Wife and daughter pretty much had the same thing they had the morning before and were happy.

RITZ KIDS:

Only thing that we saw was a room for the kids and didn't know if there was anything else there but we were told they did a lot more. Not going to take a star off here because everything else was great about the hotel.

LOCATION:

The location was good because it was in Union Square but I was bummed that we missed the Christmas lighting ceremony that was by the Hyatt. There was a lot to do there but unfortunately we didn't have enough time to see it even though we were there for 4 days.

It's definitely on the pricey side but like they say you get what you pay for and we definitely did and were very pleased.

Thank you to the staff at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco for making our stay a great one.
