This is a 4 star hotel at best. Firstly, I stayed in some truly 5 star properties in Dubai, Hong Kong, cities in Europe so my review can be trusted. Secondly, the location is good. I think the Rocks is the best area to stay. My suite was 1607 and it had very good views of the bridge and the opera house. The decor is okay but it seems like it needs some renovation. The staff is mediocre. They are too laid back that they become ineffective. Not sure if this is a cultural thing. For instance the concierge service offers minimal assistance. They act as if they are visitors. They offer no suggestions on how to experience the city. For what they do the hotel may as well have a kiosk and forego the human staff. I arrived early so my room wasn't ready but when I return at five and my room still was not ready staff didn't offer a place to relax i.e. Horizon club which later I found out was included with my room package. The staff should probably be trained on how to deal with western travelers because we would probably be most challenging. I would recommend staying at the Four Seasons which is closer to the circular quay, or if you like boutique Park Hyatt
