Jake M Review of McMenamins Edgefield

Secluded in a gorgeous locale, Edgefield is a winding labyrinth of history and art that gets better with each visit. There are 10 food and drink establishments on the property, from the grand Black Rabbit, to the innocuous Little Red Shed. Most of the bars during peak hours are very popular, both with hotel guests and evening visitors, so plan accordingly. In addition to food and drink, there are plenty of other activities to choose from. Stop by the Power Station Theater for popcorn and a movie, enjoy a relaxing massage or spa treatment at Ruby's Spa and Salon (for hotel guests, there is a private soaking pool to partake in as well), or check the schedule at Edgefield's website for music concerts and other activities going on. Like most McMenamins hotels, the guest rooms are quaint and whimsical; each room is named after an author, artist, or historical figure and no two rooms feel exactly the same. Rooms do not have a TV, but there is plentiful WiFi access around the entire property. Each floor has a number of European-style common bathrooms for guests to use, although a few select king and queen suites do come with a private bathroom. Edgefield is an amazing property, whether you are just meeting for food and drinks, planning an event, or looking for a place to spend the night or three.
