My wife gave birth at Havasu Regional in the spring. She was held in the recovery room for longer than medically required due to a lack of staffing as the hospital attempted to keep their labor costs in check during the pandemic. After the initial 30 minutes in recovery she was kept away from her newborn baby for 45 additional minutes because no one was available to transport her back to the room. The nurse who was taking care of my wife was visibly annoyed at the situation and informed my wife why she was having to stay in recovery longer. My wife will never get that time back with her newborn baby and for months we have attempted to dispute this portion of the bill with zero progress or acknowledgement, and now there are threats of sending the bill to collections. We're perfectly willing to pay for the services that were medically necessary, but running up the clock in hopes of generating additional revenue to compensate for a lack of elective procedures is disgraceful and demonstrates a lack of integrity in the hospital leadership. Shame.
