Unfortunately had a bad impression, the staff at the desk are very helpful, but beyond that they are all ego trippers, "look at us, are beautiful". The location is next to a N road where fortunately there is not much driving, so that was a bonus, Groningen center can be reached by car in fifteen minutes. Now the truth ... During dinner we were given a certain card (which was offered to us via the internet, which unfortunately did not contain anything.), Which to my horror contained 2 choices including a pork schitzel with bacon or a plaice fillet with sauce. Now that is not so bad at first sight, only I am not a fish eater and I am allergic to pork. After reporting this we were looked at strangely and suspiciously by the staff and the help was immediately taken from us. "We had to eat from the a la carte", normally we had a 3-course menu for 25 euros. Now we heard that they had 8 different menus and they were not offered. It was either my allergy to food or just paying the full price. Easy said. After this we got up, paid for drinks and went to the center to have dinner there. Once back, I slept wonderfully on the beds, only very sticky, the bath was full of lime and was also quite small. Especially for 2 people. Now the last and, above all, the dirtiest point. FLY. Not just any green, blue or black flies, no those brown ones, the little brown flies that settle on everything. The room alone had 12, all of which were flat after a fierce fight. The irritation for the flies was unfortunately increasing. The next morning during breakfast I had the feeling that I was not only having breakfast with my girlfriend but also with 3 flies. They sat on you, on your food, and everywhere you looked you saw you. After my first round, I decided to grab yogurt with some mushli. To my horror it was not vanilla yoghurt but yoghurt a la fly. (See photo) This is of course really not possible for a van der valk hotel. I would not recommend this with any concern. Because you don't have to come for the sociability of the staff and the hygiene is certainly not up to their standard.
