Considering how many great coffee shops there are in the city it's surprising to find one that would be considered average in most small towns. Walk a couple of minutes in any direction to find something much better.
[EDIT] As pointed out by the cafe my less than stellar review sticks out among the others so I'll clarify my reasons. First of all I haven't eaten here so I can't comment on the food, my review is purely based on the coffee and service.
I've visited twice on recommendation of clients for an informal meeting. Both of those times I've requested an Americano which you'd expect a barista to know is a black coffee but, both times, have been surprised that I didn't want milk and, both times, has been served with milk. I'm willing to put this down to a general feeling of chaos behind the counter rather than staff training but it's annoying either way. Both times I've been made to feel like I'm being awkward for asking for the correct drink.
The coffee isn't great. It might be the machine, it might be the barista, it might be the coffee itself. When you've got amazing coffee being produced in Norwich itself, as well as an abundance of amazing coffee shops doing wonders with those coffees, it's unusual to find somewhere that just does "average" coffee.
I may be mistaken but I also seem to recall that there's no flat white option on the menu, which is strange considering how popular they are at this time.
