Dania Neacsu Review of Time Out Lisboa

I have seen this market concept before in other countries and I am glad I can find it in Lisbon as well, as I really like it. Huge variety of dishes, from all sorts of seafood, meat, pasta, pizza, desserts and drinks. It was our first time here so we said let s try a bit of everything but that would be impossible due to the huge variety. However we tried some starters from Manteigaria Silva, specialized in cheeses and charcuterie, really delicious meat, went very well with some wine, it definitely opened our appetite.
Our main course, was based on seafood. We chose Monte Mar, specialized in fish and shellfish, we tried the fried shrimps with garlic, squid with garlic rice and some oysters. I have to say the squid was a bit too oily for my taste and the oyster was rather small but could really taste the freshness.
The food was overall good, a bit pricey.
We had some lovely white wine from Alexandre Silva. Their food looked great, but by the time we took the wine we have already ordered. Maybe next time.
Overall great concept but somehow it looked a bit chaotic. Plenty of room to sit but because people were not taking their empty plates, in order to sit you first had to free / clear the table.
The toilets could have been cleaner as it seems like a place very much visited by people.
