Review of Kendall Honda

Had our car serviced here for recall work (airbags) and an electrical issue. Everyone we worked with was polite and friendly. The electrical work was performed fine - car is running again. I assume the airbags have been replaced.

We have two issues with the service however. First, getting a loaner/rental car is burdensome, with Kendall telling us to call Honda America, and Honda America telling us to call Kendall and talk to a service manager so they could call Honda America for us. We left multiple requests for a call back, and never got one.

Second, the 39 point inspection is suspect in that they missed several obvious problems with the car that we knew about already, which makes me wonder if the inspection was completed at all. Our rear windshield wiper has not worked in years ($300 repair), our interior lights either work intermittantly or not at all, and our change oil light was on, but none of these were mentioned in the inspection, all being marked as fine. However, several expensive fluid changes, $60 windshield wiper replacement (!), and brake replacements were recommended.

It's a well known rule of thumb that you never take your car to the dealer for routine maintenance, and now I see why, as the prices are outrageous. I am upset that the inspection they said they performed missed so many obvious things. It makes me wonder whether they replaced the airbags at all. Since I wasn't charged maybe they did.

So, all very friendly people, but the upselling was obvious and costly.
