It was really a very bad experience for me. I got a call from the insurance section of this show room to take an insurance with xxxx insurance company to which this show room has a tie up. I agreed and paid a premium of Rs. 6221 after six months my car met with an accident and front left side was damaged. I took the car to the show room one body shop assistant attended and asked for my RC, Licence Copy, Insurance documents for claiming insurance.i gave all the requisite documents they registered my insurance claim and told that surveyor from liberty will come for inspection then the showroom will give the quotation. The show room assistant said he will update everything to me. I left my vehicle and came I have not recieved any call from that person I was tensed and I personally called to know what the hell is going on? Then the assistant said surveyor has already done you can come. I went by the time show room has prepared a lengthy quotation costing almost 34000 and I could only get Rs 20000 from insurance since the car is of 2010 model. Wn I enquired with local work shop they said they will repair it for Rs. 20,000 . I came to the show room and said I want to withdraw the insurance claim then body shop assistant said it need to be decided by body shop supervisor. The supervisor came and said I should give a letter of withdrawing claim that he wl forward to insurance company. I wrote a letter and gave the supervisor said he wl forward it I can take my car. I asked for an acknowledgment then he said he cannot give. I said if tomo my claim is not cancelled I will be in trouble so I should have a proof for the withdrawal, the supervisor got angry and said ok then I should pay 2000 charge for the quotation then only he wl give. I said ok and paid Rs. 2000 took receipt and took my vehicle and repaired outside just for Rs. 19000. After six months when my insurance came near to renewal I started getting calls from the show rooms insurance desk to renew the policy. The renewal date was on 14 th december I went on 11th dec to pay my premium the insurance staff told me to pay more than the present premium I asked the reason then they said I took insurance claim. I said no I have not claimed any insurance till date. I also shown the claim withdrawal letter I had given six months before then the staff said some communication gap occurred they will talk to insurance company and asked me to come next day. On 12th dec I put half day leave went and asked they said they have corrected it now I wl get 25 % non claim bonus. I asked them what they were doing all these six months by keeping my claim withdrawal form without sending to the insurance company. I also asked when the company has taken 2000 rs and claim withdrawal form and carelessly sitting mum and in the last minute making the customer roam every day to their office where is business ethics ? I said since the show room was sleeping and put the customer to wait, waste their time, made to take leave, return the 2000 rs you had charged. I also said being customer I am not interested to continue that insurance I want to change. Staff said they will talk to their managing director and see that Rs. 2000 will be returned back come next day. On 13 th december I got a call from show room they said on behalf of insurance company they ask sorry but they cannot pay Rs 2000. The following questions left un answered
1. How did the body shop supervisor allow me in the first instance without asking money?
2. A person met with an accident who had taken insurance policy executed by the car show room and paid the premium correctly found the quotation price to be very high want to withdraw the insurance claim should again be imposed with additional burden of Rs. 2000
3. When insurance is tied to show room why can't a genuine consistant customer can't get a free quotation for insurance claim?
4. Why did the show room kept quiet for six months even after the customer gave insurance claim withdrawal form without intimating to insurance company?
5. Who will compensate my time, expenses etc.
