We booked a private space for a socially-distanced gathering of friends and family, and paid extra for the privilege of the cordoned off area. It was well worth it. They flagged off a large portion of a field, giving us plenty of space. We were near to the showers and compost loos. These were great. Well maintained, not smelly, and plenty of toilet roll and saw dust provided. There was also a drinking water tap and washing up facilities provided.

This is a brilliant place to go if you have kids. There is lots of space, play areas, animals to feed, opportunities to help harvest fruit and vegetables, a teddy bear hunt, scavenger hunt, farm animal bingo game and fairy door trail which kept them entertained.

BBQ's are allowed, as are wood fires. They even sell a great wood fire bundle including logs of varying sizes, a bundle of kindling, 4 natural firelighters and a box of matches. Greasy fish and chip paper was a personal addition. It was wonderful to gather around the fire and sing songs with our friends and see others doing the same.

The site also has: a cafe, a shop, a pub, a barbers, an egg shed, viewing platforms, cabins for a more glampy stay. Animals include cows (including a wobbly legged calf), pigs (including very cute little piglets), sheep, chickens, goats, llamas, geese, turkeys. You can also order food packages including meat and dairy for collection on arrival which taste fab done on the BBQ.

There is a "no amplified music" rule which I personally greatly appreciated. The site has a real family feel as a result.

The staff were extremely helpful and for much of the time went about their work almost invisibly, allowing us to simply enjoy our time.

We will definitely be visiting again. We cannot recommend highly enough. Unfortunately, 2 groups in out party could not attend due to concerns they may have been in contact with covid. I am told that there are no refunds but they can transfer their booking to another date. I'll update this post with how easy that process is at a later date.
