My husband loves MTG and has been playing for 20+ years. I'm not exaggerating when I say we have boxes and binders of MTG cards in every room. We have chests full. We have multiple cabinets full. We have them in bookcases, under the bed and in every closet. We actually don't have enough space for all of them so there are boxes & binders over flowing onto the floor. The point is, he LOVES MTG. Till now.

Recently, we "invested" in the Core 2021 Collector Booster Boxes as a gift for him and purchased from a very reputable and well known dealer. He was so excited to get them he was like a child on Christmas morning. Then he opened the packs. You can only imagine how disappointed, sad and distraught he was to discover that every single pack was damaged. This is a premium product at a premium price and straight out the pack they couldn't even be graded as mint or pack fresh.

He contacted WOTC with his concerns and at first it sounded like they were taking it seriously and wanted to help. Then he got passed from one person to the next over the course of a few weeks. At first they said all he needed to do was send a list of the effected cards and a few sample pics to show the damage. As time went on they went back on their word and have done NOTHING.

Ultimately, he's contacted them many times about this issue (simply asking for some decent customer service) and at this point they're just ignoring him. I'd understand if he was a habitual complainer or problem. However, this is not the case. In over 2 decades of supporting this company, spending tens of thousands of dollars, he has never once contacted WOTC asking for anything. He's had the random misprint or damage in the past. The condition of this product was truly exceptional in the extent of damage.

This is ridiculous and I'm personally upset because this was his birthday present from the family. It should've been something he could enjoy for many years. We understand sometimes things happen beyond one's control but the case here is WOTC could easily make this right and simply chooses not to.

After all that... I'm not sure we will be buying new cards in the future.
