Mixed experience. The childcare & camps are FANTASTIC and my kids have gone for almost 10 years. However, my experience as an adult member for fitness has been pretty poor over several years. The pool is often visibly dirty- particles in the water, cloudy, and on some occasions, floating biological matter. When I brought this to staff attention they shrugged and said, "Yeah, it's gross sometimes." The men's locker room was often the same. At other times, the sheer amount of chemicals and smell from the pool caused me to having breathing issues on the track and serious skin irritation. I think the pool is overcrowded and the pumps simply can't handle the volume. At another Y I went to in CT they had pool break times for 1-2 hours during the day to let the filters catch up/ do spot cleaning, which alleviated such problems. Groups on the track walking 3 abreast or stopping to chat can also be an issue, and the staff do absolutely no monitoring.
It can also be VERY difficult to get in touch with admin/billing staff regarding registration and issues.
Overall, camp good, facilities marginal.

My daughter goes here for summer camp and it is THE BEST around I highly suggest it for your kids summer activities with hours from 7a to 6p you can't go wrong!
Friendly staff. Scrupulous disinfectanting.
Making the most within COVID limitations. So good to be able to swim.
I have been got to this gym for quite a while, I pay for a family membership. I finally get the opportunity to go back after Covid and the ability to actually get a good workout here has declined. First you have to sign up with limited spots, you can only workout in 45min increments, half of the equipment is currently off limits most of which there is only 1 of. Effectively making a good portion of most routines impossible. I understand precautions are necessary but I think it has gone a little too far here. I have visited other gyms and the precautions there did not hinder my ability to workout which is what you're paying for. Hopefully they will adjust some of these to make it easier for people who want to workout.
Staff are great, friendly and accomodating.Facility is clean abd orderly
I have been a member for over 20 years. Just a nice clean atmosphere to go swimming, relax in Jacuzzi, go into steam room and hit dry sauna. Ride stationary bike in winter. Excellent weight room and can walk or run around the track inside when weather bad outside! Perfect go to spot to keeping body in shape!
I could not be happier with the East Greenbush YMCA. The ladies at the desk erin Julia Shannon and Callie are all wonderful and helpful. The lifeguards are extremely helpful as well and it's been a great experience
