We went for mother's day. The staff and amenities were excellent. However, that was the furthest from a mother's day brunch I have ever seen or been. Never mind the overpriced and underwhelming meal, there were limits to the menu. The whole table needed to order from the "left" side of the menu if any one person was interested in what the "left" had. I felt like I was at a waffle house. P.s. 31.00 dollars for a 2 ounce steak with a hard quarter cut carrot cut into 3rds, and no salad.

Phenomenal service and food! I've been to the Wheatleigh many times for the Mid-summer night BBQ and lunch in the Portico. I always come away impressed by the attention to detail of the staff and the amazing food masterfully executed by Jeffery Thompson. Simply a world class dining experience.

The hotel is beautiful. When we arrived the first night the staff was amazing and couldn't do enough to make us fell welcomed. The dinner was just okay, extremely salty. The salads we had, were greens with no dressing or flavor at all.

Next day, staff out front was not so inviting as the night before. The restaurant staff was always fabulous. The pool was very nice, the girl at the pool was very attentive. We did the "tasting menu" with the cheese cart and the wine pairing for dinner. The wine and cheeses were great. The tasting dinner was absolutely awful. Whoever Chef Jeffrey is, I don't know, but his over salted food is not worth the money at all.

Next day, we thought maybe we would leave, not a whole lot to do here at all, they wanted us to pay $500.00 for leaving early or leave a $1,000.00 deposit to return at another time. No thanks, we just stayed. We went to the pool again, different server this day. He was never around, had to call the hotel to have any type of service. It was absolutely ridiculous. Went back to the restaurant for dinner, asked for a few tomatoes, onion and Parmesan cheese to be added to the salad and a side of noodles for the seafood dish. Chef Jeffrey thought it was necessary to charge an extra $25.00. Should have just order two entrees. Now thinking maybe he needed to buy some more salt for his recipes, that are nothing to write home about.

So basically it is a very relaxing, quiet place with lovely views. Worth the price not really. Food is awful, Chef Jeffrey never met him or saw him and could care less if I ever did(that's how bad his food was). We should have went out to town to eat(we were not familiar with roads and didn't want to drive them in the dark). The servers were good. The managers not that great, we told them of experience and they did nothing. Unfortunately we will never return again. The rates being charged, warrant way better service from the staff than was received.
We are chalking this one up as a loss.

Just went to the Wheatleigh for dinner Tonight. The ambiance is magical as we approached in the snow with the beautifully lit tree and entrance. Service at dinner was impeccable. The food was delicious as the presentation was to the eye. We highly recommend this restaurant for dinner
