I’m a huge fan of Weatherby and own quite a few of their rifles. After missing my first elk, I decided to invest in a 300 Weatherby magnum for my next hunt. Since then, I’ve expanded my collection with the 7mm, 25-7, and .243 calibers, and most recently added the 307 in 270. Like the rest of the lineup, this rifle is absolutely awesome.

Weatherby is truly on an upward trajectory. It feels like Roy would be incredibly proud of the direction the company is heading. The quality and innovation are so impressive that I’m seriously considering picking up another 240 for myself.

I’ve been a loyal Weatherby fan since 1975, when I bought my first MkV Deluxe in .460 Weatherby Magnum while stationed in Germany. These rifles are simply amazing and a joy to shoot. I replaced my original Mark V back in 1986 and later added a Weatherby 92 pump gun in 12 gauge. Over the years, I’ve managed to track down two more left-handed Mark V Deluxes in .300 and .340 Weatherby Magnum. Even though my service-connected disability prevents me from hunting now, I still love hitting the range and reminiscing about the good old days.

Paired with 156 gr Berger Elite Hunter ammo and a 5x30x50 Huskmaw scope, this rifle performs flawlessly, even past 1000 yards.

I purchased a brand new Weatherby 270 Wby Mag Alaskan back about fifteen years ago, and it has been an absolute workhorse ever since. Even though I zeroed it to print three inches high at 100 yards, the rifle has held that exact point of aim for over a decade and a half. Every hunting season here in Colorado starts with a single test shot, and the bullet hole on my paper has never moved an inch—it’s consistently stayed right at that 12 o'clock mark. This caliber has taken down more than a dozen elk and twice as many mules, proving its reliability in the field. I paired the rifle with Silver Leupold 4-12x glass in matching mounts, and the combination looks fantastic. It’s clear why Weatherby has built such a strong reputation for accuracy and craftsmanship.

I’ve had this Weatherby rifle in .30-06 for a while now, and I’m really pleased with it. If you’re looking for a versatile big-game rifle, it definitely stands out among competitors like the Tikka T3X or Bergara B14. Accuracy has been spot-on; I’ve tested about eight different loads, and it seems to prefer ELDX and Fusion ammunition, though I’m planning to test more this season with better technique. I chose this model primarily because of the price point—sales at my local dealer made it a great value, leaving more budget for ammo. It also looks fantastic. The Cerakote finish is incredibly durable, resisting scratches easily, and I’ve decided to Cerakote all my future hunting rifles based on this experience. Another key factor was the factory threaded muzzle, which I think is essential for big-game rifles. I kept the brake but found the recoil manageable, so I might swap it for a suppressor down the line. It also adds value if I ever decide to trade it in. The three-position safety is a brilliant feature, and the factory butt pad is comfortable. However, there are two minor quirks. Despite the Monte Carlo stock, I still had to adjust my head position to get a clear sight picture through the scope, even with the objective lens mounted as low as possible. The raised cheekpiece makes it tricky to use standard risers; I ended up adding some neoprene and a cartridge sock to fix the fit. Also, the grip and forend grooves are a bit sharp, so I sanded them down to avoid cutting my hands—a simple fix, but something to note. The rifle weighs exactly 7.5 lbs, so it’s not a light hauler for long hikes. On the plus side, the stiff stock does help absorb some recoil, which is nice since I don’t love muzzle brakes. I’m considering a lighter aftermarket stock, but for now, I’m very happy. I’d recommend this rifle without hesitation.

I recently sighted in my Weatherby Vanguard using the 257 WM chamber and Barnes 100gr TTSX ammo, and the barrel really loves them. My other W Vanguard in 7mm RM also pairs beautifully with Barnes TSX. Very happy with the performance.

I’m really impressed with the cold hammer-forged barrel on this .300 Weatherby Magnum. The Vanguard is just solid. I’d prefer a MK V for the 3-position safety, but this model works perfectly for me since my scope doesn’t need that 54-degree throw. The threaded muzzle is a great feature—the AccuBrake fits perfectly and takes the kick out of the 300 Wby significantly. If you want the best bolt action under $1000, Weatherby’s Vanguard is still the top choice.

This Weatherby magnum is an absolute beast. I was aiming for one-eighth inch groups at 100 yards, and with the Nosler Accubond 180s, I’m consistently getting shots under an inch—sometimes even three-quarters of an inch. Accuracy is on point, too; I zeroed it out and put a Vortex Viper scope with a DNZ mount on it, and it held dead on at 300 yards. I’ve taken four whitetails this past season, mostly from 100 to 120 yards, with one at 40 yards that weighed around 100 lbs. The meat quality is just as good as what you’d get from a .270 Win or .308, without any unnecessary damage. It’s easily a 10/10 rifle, and I’d recommend it in a heartbeat.

Hands down, the AccuMark is the star of the Weatherby lineup. I’ve taken over 40 elk, three moose, two sheep, and countless deer and antelope with this rifle, and I’ve never had to track a wounded animal because every shot has been devastating. Out here in Wyoming, pairing the 210-grain Scirocco with H1000 powder gives you flat-shooting accuracy that is just relentless. Yes, it’s a substantial rifle, but the sheer killing power means you aren't wasting time looking for blood trails. It’s a true powerhouse.

The Weatherby 30-378 is an incredible rifle, as proven when my tag for a Desert Bighorn Sheep yielded a quick, clean drop just 10 yards out. My only real gripe is with ammo availability; it’s frustrating that the advertised 180-grain Accubond cartridges are perpetually out of stock.

My Weatherby .460 Magnum is surprisingly manageable when I shoot from a standing or seated position. It only feels a bit heavy when firing from a bench rest without any support. While I really prefer the comfort of the .416 Weatherby, the .460 still works for me. I load my own ammunition to the max, and the .416 does everything I need. I’ve taken down some massive bears, moose, and elk with it, and despite being in my 80s, I always place my shots accurately.

I recently made a bit of a goof at the range by loading a standard .270 Winchester round into the .270 WM chamber and firing it. The case expanded and ruptured, actually blowing the side off my stock, yet the bullet traveled straight down the barrel and hit the target. This really highlights just how robust and reliable Weatherby’s actions are. I replaced the stock, and the rifle is back in action and firing perfectly.

This is a true American classic. My father picked up a .270 Weatherby Magnum back around 1961 or 1962, right when I was starting school. After 25 years of relying on a collection of shotguns—a Remington 1100, a Mossberg 935, and a Browning O/U—I finally decided to consolidate them into one versatile weapon with the Weatherby 18i. This Italian-made Marocchi model, crafted to Weatherby’s exacting standards, is absolutely superb. Unlike my previous setups, this shotgun effortlessly handles everything from low-brass dove loads to high-brass options, 3-inch Turkey shells, and even the heavy Bismuth 3 1/2” Goose loads. It is rare to find such a fantastic firearm at such an affordable price point. I am supremely happy with this investment.

After fitting it with a Leupold Mark 4 scope, I’ve never looked back. While I use my .300 often, nothing beats the performance of the .30-.378 for longer-range shots. In all my years in the field, I’ve never lost an animal I’ve shot at; most dropped right where they stood, and none took more than a few steps. There are plenty of great calibers on the market today—I’ve tried many—but none satisfy me quite like my two Weatherby Magnums. I consider myself a Weatherby man for life, and it’s been an excellent journey.

Picked up the 6.5 RPM in the Hunter configuration last year, and it has been a fantastic addition to my collection. As a thin-barreled hunting rifle, the precision is impressive—consistently hitting half-MOA at 100 yards. Weatherby really knows how to create outstanding calibers, and this rifle proves why they have such a strong reputation for quality and craftsmanship.

Please bring back the Weatherby Vanguard Deluxe! I already own two calibers and am eager to add three more to my collection. It remains the best rifle I’ve ever used. I still prefer traditional stocks and wouldn’t hunt or buy a synthetic model. There is simply no comparison.

I picked up this rifle from a small shop in South Colorado and decided to test it out on wild hogs in Louisiana during the off-season. Paired with the 225-grain Interlock ammunition they had in stock, the performance was outstanding. I zeroed it out first thing in the morning, achieving tight groups at 100 yards, and it proved remarkably accurate at 250 yards with consistent velocity. While I usually prefer tougher bullets like Partitions or Sciroccos, the speed here makes the Interlock a viable option. I took down three hogs within a 40-to-190-yard range. It’s a bit pricey at $5 a round, but the quality justifies it. The gun is surprisingly lightweight, even with a Leupold VX-3HD scope and a Harris bipod attached. My only gripes are that Weatherby doesn’t share their proprietary load data (a bit of a letdown given the price tag) and that I’ll have to skip the quarter-pounder tomorrow after shooting all that ammo. Great weapon overall.

One of the best investments I’ve made in a long-range platform. I’ve taken everything from whitetail to moose with this gun, using 180 grain Accubonds for distances ranging from a close 15 yards up to an impressive 1,013 yards on an elk. It is hands-down my go-to firearm, and my specific Weatherby .30-378 continues to deliver the accuracy and reliability I expect from a brand with such a strong heritage in Wyoming.

Absolutely exceptional rifle. I purchased it back in 2007 for a brown bear hunt on the Alaska Peninsula, and it took down the target with one shot. The recoil is very manageable thanks to the muzzle brake and pad. I’ve since used it for mule deer and elk in Colorado with great results. While other hunters might say they love their current gear, I suspect many would secretly prefer this Weatherby in this caliber. My only minor wish, like my Canadian friends, is for better ammunition availability—hopefully, that improves soon!

The rifle is fantastic, but I’ve found that it struggles to cycle reliably with my standard 1200 fps ammunition; it really needs that velocity pushed up to 1300 fps to function smoothly.

With chokes available from various vendors, it’s a practical choice. In my opinion, this Orion offers exceptional value among over-and-under shotguns. The performance is so good I’m planning to expand the collection with a 20-gauge model next—though a 28-gauge would be even better!

If you own a .300 Weatherby Magnum, the Mark V muzzle brake from Weatherby is an absolute must-have. I originally found the kick from my rifle manageable but quite rough on my shoulder after a day of shooting. After installing this brake, the recoil is practically unnoticeable—easier on the body than even my lighter 7mm-08. Weatherby has really outdone themselves with the craftsmanship on this 20 gauge. If they added an oversized bolt release and charge handle, it would be the perfect rifle.

For the price, you really can’t beat the overall quality from Weatherby. The fit and finish are solid, though I think they could tweak the ergonomics a bit—specifically, I’d love to see a larger, non-plastic bolt handle and a more substantial safety button.

Got the Weatherby 18i Waterfowler just before dove season started in 2021, and it has been a reliable companion. It handles 2-3/4 inch shells loaded with 1-1/8 oz of size 6 or 7-1/2 steel shot perfectly for doves. I really appreciate the option to fire 3.5-inch cartridges too, as it gives me much more flexibility with ammo choices for both upland and waterfowl hunts. So far, I’m very happy with the shotgun’s overall reliability, solid weight, durability, and classic aesthetics.

I absolutely love my 6.6-300 chambering in the Sendero for long-range shooting out in Texas. The precision is unmatched; when I pair it with Weatherby ammunition and a 10x Leupold Sniper Scope, I consistently group shots into a single tight hole. It’s hands down the best dedicated rifle I’ve ever owned, and I’m eager to take it out for my upcoming Nilgai hunt.

Got this shotgun for my kids to start shooting a year ago. We spent some time dialing in the right ammunition. At first, it had a habit of barely ejecting shells, which caused jams. I tried various light loads, but it wasn't until I switched to heavier shells (1-1/8 oz) that the issue disappeared. The only trade-off is that the extra weight really hurts their shoulders after a few boxes. My son has been doing great with the SA-08 Compact, hitting over 80%, but since it’s getting a bit small for him, this will likely be his last season before he outgrows it.

The chamber on my .270 Winchester is slightly oversized, which initially kept the velocity a bit lower than expected. However, once I dialed in the right load, I was able to consistently group three 150-grain partition bullets into a tight 0.387-inch cluster.
