Best bouldering gym in Sydney, excellent coffee and the owner, Martijn, is very helpful and is always game to lend a helping hand. Problems are varied and challenging enough - only thing missing is a 45 degree wall :)

Excellent place for beginners to learn the ropes and progress quickly, but also challenging enough for climbers who've been doing it for years.

The place has a welcoming and open atmosphere with a really friendly and helpful climbing community. Staff are always super friendly, and the different colour levels change over periodically.
Don't even bother bringing your own water, they provide paper cups, pens and a tap. Just mark your name on the cup, help yourself to the water and pop your cup on the bench like everyone else.
Side note - they use that hipster recycled toilet paper, nice!

Really cool, laidback little boulder gym, lots of grades and sending the overhangs in the back will make you feel like a ninja badass even if you suck. Nice routes, decent setting and might just give you the push to take it outdoors which is really where you should be right? Anyways, it's the ultimate nerd sport and please let yourself get caught up in it, just make sure you also yoga and chill.

It's a nice, fun place to boulder and is suitable for all skill levels. It gets quite crowded though, especially in the afternoons when people finish work, and you have to wait at every wall. The facilities are well maintained, but it is a little pricey, even for students ($20).

Great boulder gym with a lot of variety and great staff. It's a nice open area with the boulder walls lining the perimeter of the space, with some practice climbing things in the middle as well as a slackline. Fridays are student days so you can go there for a discount down to $12 for a day pass. Shoes (while not necessary are recommended) are $6. Had a ton of fun here.

Love love. The community is open and welcoming, a stark contrast to many of the other Sydney gyms. Facility is clean, new, holds are sticky. Routes are set competition style. Only downside is it's not set up for training nor the atmosphere. Highly recommend to folks traveling through looking for Sydney's best or for those looking for a climbing community.

Enjoyed myself thoroughly! Came here with a group of friends on my birthday and was thrilled when it was revealed that you climb free on your birthday(not including shoe rental). Climbs were numerous, well graded so you know you are improving, and also not too crowded. Also near the airport so you can make a quick stop by just before flying off! Will definitely come back the next time I come to Sydney!

Both of the 9 degrees bouldering gyms that I've been to have been great although I would say that the parking is much easier at the Parramatta location, there is very little official parking at Alexandria so it's probably needed to go round the other side of one of the warehouses and park there such as next to Sky Zone or the all sorts indoor soccer courts. The service is really good and the facilities available are really good too, lots of different routes and even on a Saturday morning when it is relatively busy there were still many routes available to climb at all levels

This gym has all the makings of a good bouldering gym, lots of wall space, barista coffee and the premium price to go with it all. However the place is disgusting. The walls are filthy, most of the holds are worn shiney with use and need be thrown out, mats have seen better days, hire shoes need replacing and the setting itself leaves something to be desired. Would be worthwhile banning the use of normal shoes like other gyms. Left feeling like a shower to wash the filth from the walls off.

My Favourite bouldering gym in Sydney. The place is very social !! It is the place I met most of the people I climb with outdoors and it just projected my technique and finger strength through the roof. They have barista coffee some essential food and cold drinks. Also has a few hang boards from beastmaker and zlag. They also have free events during the week such as an classes and falling safety workshop. Enter this gym a beginner/intermediate and got out ready to tackle the real deal.
