To everyone saying the school is trying to ban vets: that was a satirical group OUTSIDE of UCCS that had wrote the flyer. Nobody on campus liked seeing it, and they were all torn down within an hour. ...Parking does suck though, that part is true.
I would avoid this university, I've had issues with tuition and the class selection is very pathetic for the student body size, you have to be quick/lucky to get into classes you actually need and hope they can fit into a reasonable schedule.
Fantastic place where the professors actually care about their students. The class sizes are small and you will learn a lot. The students are all very friendly and it is easy to find somewhere to fit in.
parking has gotten worse over the years rather than better. Instead of a new arts center they should have made a better parking garage. Beatuful campus with a mixed bag of great and horrible teachers. *Update* Still have not fixed parking. Just build underground parking garages where the current l...
The UCCS provides a good experience for exchange students. The college of engineering and applied science and the college of business are notable. I could experience a great academic year last year.
UCCS is an incredible and growing school that should be taken much more seriously than it is. With growing programs in all spheres of knowledge, this place is a great place to learn and start a career. Life changing teachers and wonderful knowledge.
Very proud to have earned a BA, MPA and also commissioned through ROTC (Separated Service Honorably). It is not a degree factory as some of the "Everest" colleges. UCCS is the real thing, I have NEVER regretted completing my education there. I don't recognize the campus after the growth. The Chance...
With a few exceptions, the teachers and especially the staff see the students as just a number. If you plan on entering the corporate world, this is your college if you care about the people you will do business with Western State Colorado University is 100 x better.
Enrolling in a school shouldn't be more difficult than obtaining an actual degree. No one in their office answers their phones. They instead prefer to send them straight to voicemail. I am transferring from another school and after applying and getting accepted to 13 different colleges i should have...
I've been going here for 3 years now. I've had great professors, and I've enjoyed the classes very much. I just wish that they wouldn't advertise having classes when there isn't faculty to teach them. Otherwise, the campus is beautiful, and you get a great education for the price you pay.
Could not ask for a better location! The campus is large enough that you can always meet someone new and small enough that by the end of your studies you feel like your part of a community. Not really a "party" school, but great base of operations for all the outdoor enthusiasts!
I wonder when UCCS will turn out the construction floodlights? I live a 1/4 mile away, love to look at the hevens, and their floodlights have polluted the night all night long, for many many months. A very poor neighbor! Allen Cable
Remarkably unhelpful staff, a nightmare to park at, and the school's apparent fetish for fees borders on criminal. Don't even consider this place if you work full time, nearly every professor has an attendance policy permitting maybe 2 absences per semester. But, you think, maybe I'll learn someth...
Some teachers are awesome and other teachers are horrible that don t want to help you. Overall, students are also rude and for some reason believe they are better than everyone else. Oh and the staff is horrible and unprofessional. Not to mention that they charged me two payments in one month when I...
I majored in History and got mostly A's. I majored in History to get my teaching credential. The history courses were great for the most part and I just loved the professors, but the Teacher Education Licensure Program was really bad for the student teaching part of it. There are numerous compli...
UCCS is a great school and best bang for your buck. Campus is nice and will continue to improve as construction finishes up. While the Freshmen and Sophomore classes are sometimes pretty large (usually the Science classes for me, others were pretty small), your Junior and Senior level classes are ex...
Even if you have a parking pass, you'll get at least 2 parking tickets. Only 2 out of the 6 they gave me I was actually guilty of. The appeal process is a waste of time and is an attempt to discourage disputes. Basically you gave to appeal within 2 weeks, you gave to deliver a form in person before ...
I am proud to have been part of the UCCS community for almost 20 years. The staff and faculty have a genuine desire to see students succeed. UCCS has been (and will continue to be) a driving force in the economic prosperity of this city. #PROUDMOUNTAINLION
I've attended this university, CU-Boulder and Boston U. UCCS has, by far, the most supportive staff, responsive faculty and least pretensions. The campus looks and feels new. Engineering and sciences are strong, students are responsible and mellow - many work part or full-time off campus. Low (in-st...
Love the School! They only get 3 stars because the employees in the financial aid office are highly incompetent and have lost numerous documents I have sent in *via email!!!*
SJW newsletters calling for the ban of white people and veterans show how educated the students are. There should be repercussions for things like that.
The UCCS is underrated. This university is academy oriented. Its engineering section is notable and Electrical Engineering dept. is by far the most active in research fields. Scenic beauty is stunning. Staffs are cooperative too. One con is- if high altitude doesn't go with you, you should think ag...
I would give them 0 stars if I could. The financial aid department is mostly run by incompetent simpletons and dishonest morons who don't try to correct their mistakes nor make good on promises they make, especially when they retract said promises. They also like to garnish state returns even after ...
Literally I know a cardboard box that is a better excuse for a university than this school. Be prepared to be nickled and dimed to death and to be treated like a number and just remember that this is an institution and you do not matter one bit to them and they will make sure you know that.
UCCS has steadily grown in popularity. Colorado seems to be making quiteva large investment in this institution. New medical school and a new building for the business school among many other new facilities. A nice atmosphere on campus, too.
I had a really good experience at UCCS getting my BSME. Many of the engineering professors are excellent teachers and also have had real world experience that is valuable for students to hear about. The class sizes in engineering classes were pretty small and you almost always have good access to yo...
This school has changed my life in some really great ways. I have had some amazing professors and I have gotten into some wonderful programs. Through my involvement on campus I have gotten access to some great connections throughout the community. It's a great place to go for a school, a great place...
UCCS is full of professors who actually care about their students. I have gained so much experience just in the two years I have been here. Sure every school has certain things that others don't like but it in no way makes this a terrible school. I am even an out of state student making tuition rate...
WORST SCHOOL EVER!!!! If you are a transfer student i wouldn't go here. They are extremely unhelpful. I am an Army Spouse and am always moving, so i have been to many school. This school is the only one i have had trouble with. I don't with this much struggle upon anyone.
This is a fantastic school with a fantastic physics lab. Curriculum (for undergrad physics) is what you would get anywhere; Arfken, Griffiths, etc. Some top notch teachers and the campus is gorgeous.
Great school. The people in housing here are terrible though. They force residents to sign a predatory contract. Some of the employees are also rude. Housing staff does not care about it's resident or the issues that they face. In particular Molly Kinne does not respond to emails in a professional m...
Absolutely gorgeous campus, caring and down to earth professors that had everything I was looking for. Living on campus is an incredible experience and everyone has been so friendly and helpful
Shameful that they allow their professors to use extremely biased materials representing only one side of the political spectrum as required reading. This is not education, it is indoctrination.
I am an alumni and am continuously impressed by the beautification process of this school. I was a communications major and the staff was phenomenal. I never had any issues with this University or its staff. Highly recommended!
