I bought the 6 hour kiteboarding training package. Lessons are dependent on weather conditions and if the conditions don t suit they were able to quickly schedule me on next available session. The equipment used for training was in very good condition and they made sure I was fitted correctly. I had Andy as my instructor and he was able to get me to waterstart in 6 hours what a champion!! Jimmy and Peter at the front counter were enthusiastic and happy to answer any questions. I highly recommend zu boardsports.

Totally recommended! I took my first lesson with The Zu in December 2020 having no kiting or sailing experience. I was lucky enough to get a class with all the instructors and even though, they all have different teaching styles, I can honestly say they are all superb PROFESSIONALS and know their stuff. The lessons are fun but with a focus on safety too. Fast forward 8 weeks, I m travelling around Australia while kiting on my own. Can't thank you enough guys. Thanks Carlos, Hayato and Josh.

I have traveled numerous times with The Zu Crew to some of the best locations in the world, so if you really want an experience of a lifetime, meet new people,in some of the best conditions in the world, you must check out the crew at The Zu. they will sort out an entire holiday package for you, hassle free what ever level you are currently at.

It s extremely hard to communicate with them. I called them twice and received a message asking if I have enquiries. I replied and gave them my availability for them to ring. No ring, but also messages. So we spent over a week texting, while a 20mins call would do. Even though they replied messages every second day. The time of their reply can be midnight. When we finally reached a point we could arrange a payment, they eventually called. They just asked straight away if they can process the payment, ignoring my questions eg. what time of the day we usually go into the water so I can see if it s possible I can juggle it with work on a weekday. In my message I also indicated I d be free after 4.30pm. But they just called, without checking time. To me, they don t care about their customers at all, seems they re the only people who re busy in this world. There s no chance they re gonna call you unless to take money out from you. Not recommended only if they can improve their customer services and start caring about their customers.

The instructors at the Zu Kite school are top shelf! I have been to other kite schools which were okay HOWEVER Carlos and Hiyato are on a whole other level, masters of their craft exhibiting extreme patience, super chuffed that i found the Zu!

The Zu Boardsports is the only boardsports in St. Kilda that provides professional service with a friendly and fun attitude.

Paul and Ivan are very easy going and are very knowledgeable in all water sport activities being Windsurfing, Kite Surfing and Stand Up Paddle Boarding.

Their lessons are all professionally run and the instructors are all very friendly and clearly enjoy teaching.

This is one of the best boardshops in the world! Offering incredible customer service when it comes to booking lessons for kitesurfing, windsurfing or stand up paddle boarding, they are always super up to date on all the latest gear and all the staff are incredibly knowledgable and will spend time to help answer al your questions and assist you in finding the perfect gear for you! They have everything here and if they don't they are more than happy to order it for you and give you a courtesy call when it arrives so that you don't have to keep calling to see if its there.

I walked in for just a simple stand up paddle board hire and after five months I am absolutely addicted to kite boarding and base most of my travels around where I can kite, in fact I'm about to move to Jericoacoara in Brazil because of kitesurfing!

The lessons I took at The Zu Boardsports taught me how to kite within just a few hours (I have a background in wake and surf, but kite control is a whole other ball game) and the instructors were very knowledge, patient and really fun- I don't think I have ever laughed so much when it came to painfully face planting in the water. Paul and Ivan helped me choose the perfect gear for my needs and I left with a new wetsuit, kite, harness, bar, board and bag! I love all my gear and can't wait to get my next kites there too!

It was also very convenient that they had changing rooms and bathrooms in the store, a shower outside, as well as a safe place to store my belongings when I was taking lessons. The staff are so friendly, and I loved the community BBQs they would have where I could meet other kiters!

Generally i dont get into the whole google review thing too often unless the service is exceptionally good and warrants a public pat on the back , or exceptionally poor and needs public shaminf.

Well 5/5 stars for the team, yesturday i picked up my S/U Paddle board, the service frm both the Peters was exceptional and their advice was as frank as could be , felt like i was dealing with a friend.

Many thanks again and i have no hesitation to reccomend Zu Boardsports, defnatly go and see bald Pete ;-)

Contacted us a few times to make up for the loss time and ensuring we get a good experience at the end.
The trainers there are very good.
Important note, if you really want to get as much out of the lessons do go solo. Don t go with a friend etc. Unfortunately, there is time is wasted in changing over and standing around.

We had a lesson with Dan yesterday, service was awesome, attitude was great. They were flexible and helpful, even let me extend my gift voucher due to illness. Exceptional service, nice people with amazing mindset!

Awful -- cannot believe the experience. Shop owner extremely rude and disinterested. I was treated horribly and they wouldn't even rent to me. Seems pretty simple, you have a paying customer looking for a fun afternoon. I was stunned after reading all the positive reviews. Quite a 180 from that. I would never recommend this to anyone.

These guys have been kite surfers from when it 1st started in Melbourne. Over the 10 years I have been buying equipment from them, they only ever sell me what's right for me, not what's best for them. Sometimes its just the small 1%ers that make the difference, these guys are all over it in service and advice and they do a rockin overseas kite surfari. 50 meters from the water and you are kiteboarding StKilda.

The Zu Boardsports is definitely the best Kiteschool in ST kilda, everything was just awesome. The crew is great, the instructors were super friendly and the lesson was fun while staying safe. A lot of facilities like a shower and changing rooms are available. I highly recommend this place... I think they also rent Stand Up Paddle Boards and do windsurfing lessons. Great spot.

Awesome place on the water, can get changed in the change rooms, pump your kite and literally step onto the water. The guys there kite, SUP and Pole board so you get real advice on gear and secret locations! You Guys ROCK!! AND I love my AIRUSH GEAR!!!

Thanks guys for being flexible with my walk-in lesson and hire request today. Lucy is a great instructor and she helped me deal with the big swell I wasn t that used to - even getting my board a few times which saved me body dragging around those jellyfish!

I hadn't been kiting for quite some time (years) and went to The Zu for some refresher training. They got me up and running again in no time. All the Instructors are professional, friendly and very competent.

Best Skateboard shop in Melbourne & Super close to Australia's best skate park 'St Kilda'.

I came to this shop looking for a second hand kite. After finding a 12m North Rebel I was quick to purchase the kite. Unfortunately, I had terrible luck and the kite had multiple issues. Paul and Jamie (the owner and an employee), were both so helpful with getting me back on the water. They went above and beyond their retailer duties to assist me. Genuine people work here and I would suggest this shop to anyone.

Had an amazing time at the Zu during my kiteboarding lesson with Stephen, will come back for sure.

My experience with Zu Boardsports was excellent.

I purchased the 6 hour Kite Surfing course. Carlos was quick to contact me after i called and inquired about lessons. The team is also very considerate of their clients time and if the wind is not suitable to run a session they will let you know 2 hours in advance.

My teacher was Carlos. Carlos is a great teacher. He is very thorough, professional and fun! Flying a big kite is harder then it looks... However, Carlos was patient and explained things in a way i understood.

I can highly recommend Zu, Carlos and the rest of the friendly team (that i have met) - Hayato, Josh, Ivan & Carlitos
