If you love the classic (but not stuffy/old) steakhouse experience, service with the white coat and epic selections of meat, you must try Metropolitan Grill in downtown Seattle. I'm a Chicago transplant to the city, (and not to toot my own horn but..) I have dined in the best steakhouses in the country, and this makes my list for sure.

I have to start with the service. Bruno is a big, warm teddy bear who knows his stuff when it comes to meat - how it's farmed, raised, prepared and cooked - and will be your guide to the whole menu. Trust him, take his advice and suggestions and you will not be disappointed. It is a pleasure to dine with him.

If there are at least two men in your party who enjoy the same temperature on their steaks, ensure that they order the long-bone ribeye. It is a gorgeous piece of American Wagyu and is quite the spectacle when brought to the table. The lobster mac and cheese on the side is also a no-brainer - get it.

I started with the classic Caesar. Bruno is prepared to remove the fresh anchovy filets, but for the love of God, don't. The menu has selections of both Prime and American Wagyu, and I followed Bruno's suggestion of the side-by-side 4oz filets of each - both were totally outstanding and I don't know which I liked better. I substituted the classic potato side (roasted garlic mash, fries, or baked) that comes with each dish and opted for the roasted poblano scalloped potato and it was divine. There is of course a dessert menu full of giant cakes, but I prefer to drink my sweets, and they had a great selection of dessert wines and ports.

Overall, this was a wonderful evening out, I would recommend for special occasions for two, or a group of fun-loving carnivores. There are always a couple sommeliers circulating the restaurant as well who make great suggestions especially if you are uneducated on Washington wines - there's a fabulous selection. The signature cocktails are also enticing and top-shelf.

Come hungry!

I come here often for the Happy Hour. The food and drinks are outstanding and just what you'd expect from the best steakhouse in Seattle, but the Happy Hour prices are unbelievable! The service is of course impeccable also and so there is no reason not to check this place out for Happy Hour.

The Met is a staple in Seattle. It's right up there as one of the best steakhouse's in the city, and on any given day it just may be my favorite. You'll catch yourself drooling over the NY Strip days after you visit here, and the service is everything you would expect it be.

Great service and good food. Only downside was when the doorman referred us to a "Towncar" with a flat rate instead of a cab. It was a nasty car whose driver smoked. When my wife asked if he had been smoking in the car he said he was smoking outside. This was an obvious lie. Then we tried to roll the windows down and he says they were broken and didn't work. The experience left a bad taste and smell. Do not let them put you in the "Towncar". Also, I didn't see anything in the car that appeared that this guy even has a chauffeurs license. He didn't apologize for the stink either. I expected more from a restaurant like this. Their doormen should know better.

Came here for New Years and had the most amazing time!!! Everything from the valets to the servers were beyond professional. One guest in our party had some very strict dietary restrictions. Our server went above and beyond to ensure that she was well taken care of by offering substitutions and options that fit with her allergies.

Everyone in our party loved their meals and couldn't stop raving about their experience. Everything was amazing but the best part of the meal was our incredible desserts to finish off the night. The Bananas Foster is something that everyone should try at least once in their life. The pieces of cake were incredible as well. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!!

The food was delightful. I thoroughly enjoyed the crab cake appetizer and even the Brussels sprouts which I normally can't stand. The steak was done just as I ordered. The steak fries were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Also, they made an fantastic Manhattan.

So many options
Love the concept of this place! A sports-bar like place that serves different concoctions of ginger beer - awesome! I got the Dark & Stormy and it was delicious. Unfortunately you can't take the cocktails to go, obviously, but you can get a 12 or 20 oz cup of the ginger beer to go.

It is like stepping into pop/sport culture history with all the celebrity photos. I actually heard about this restaurant on a national sports broadcasting show and was told when you're in Seattle you absolutely have to stop here... I was told correctly! The food was absolutely amazing everything tasted delicious and they are well worth their reputation. Maybe it's just the Vegas in me coming out... But the only down mark that I can give them is that when we ordered our bottle of wine our server never poured us another glass... We had to do it ourself... something I'm not used to seeing in that high end of a restaurant... But besides that it was absolutely amazing!

Having never eaten here before and hearing great things about the "Met" my expectations were high. The service was good, the food average not worth the $75 bacon wrapped filet with lobster, lobster was tuff and chewy, ceasar salad had to many anchovies, lobster mac-n-cheese was dry, fishy and lacked of cheese. The brussel sprouts were good but dry, many a drizzle of olive oil or maple syrup. Won't go back anytime soon.

The wagyu was hands down amazing. My girlfriend and I getting food poisoning after our anniversary dinner wasn't. They have a mandatory 20% gratuity for all party sizes now, which I've never seen anywhere before. The service was great and I always love to tip that much, but it doesn't feel like gratuity when they decide to pat themselves on the back like that. Will go elsewhere from now on.

O-M-G!!! This was my first time there and will most definitely be returning. I ordered the steak trio and it was work every single penny. It was pretty pricey, but that was the most tender, melt in your mouth steak I've ever had. Our waiter was excellent also. He was funny and had great recommendations on what to order and how to eat it. Normally in but a fan of that, but he was spot on with everything and I appreciated it. We will be back.

Love all the upgrades after the renovation! With one of the best happy hours in the Pacific Northwest, You can feel fancy telling people you ate at 'The Met' and it only costs you 10 bucks. Come at the right time and you'll spot local celebrities like Russell Wilson sit right next you. This place must really take care of their staff because we always seem to see the same friendly staff who greets just about everyone by name and treats everyone like they are a local celebrity.
