I ve spent a week at the Home Ranch in both the fall and winter, and it s hard to pick which was a better experience. In the summer Michael and his team of excellent wranglers created an amazing horseback experience. In the winter the snowshoe trails and tubing hill were a blast. Regardless of season, Selina and the entire Home Ranch staff were incredibly attentive and warm. Bring a big appetite, because you ll want to eat everything Chef Jonathan puts on a menu!

We recently enjoyed the most amazing week at the Home Ranch in CO. A perfect week of riding, enjoying amazing food, music and the company of other guests that quickly became friends. The wrangles added to the enjoyment and our two sons aged 14 and 18 gave the whole trip a 10 out of 10

Probably the most personal and ... magical? ... resort experience I've ever had. The staff -- as friendly and warm as you can imagine - anticipated and accommodated every need and want. The setting is ranch and wildlands, but inside you are enfolded in warmth and luxury.

Home Ranch is a truly unique Colorado experience. The facilities and grounds are Western in feel and style, the service is exceptional and the staff is friendly and warm.

I spent two nights there this past February for a cross-country ski race held on the property. The food was exceptional and chef Jonathan uses locally grown produce whenever possible. We also visited the horses, spent time with the ranch dog and poked around the historic buildings.

The ski event was top-notch with impeccably groomed trails and a phenomenal post race meal on the back deck overlooking the trails. It was a small event and part of me hopes it remains that way.

No need to leave the property during your stay, everything you could desire is right there! I hope to spend time there during the summer months as well.

Thanks to Brooks, Clyde, Salina and the rest of the staff at Home Ranch for providing a fantastic experience.

Visited for the first time 21 years ago and always dreamed of going back. Brought the 12 and 16 year-old grand kids for a week to share and expose them to the unsurpassed beauty of the Ranch. The level of service, attention to detail, commitment to the quality of experience of all of their guests cannot be overstated. Not to mention the incredible food.
Not cheap, but worth every penny and then some. Only hope we'll have another opportunity to visit in the not-too-distant future.

Just back from work week--yup, the Home Ranch lets you help them spruce the place up. We work with staff at their direction to mend tack, brush and exercise horses, mend fences, plant gardens and pots, and much more. Our reward? The best food and hospitality imaginable and all with newly made friends from around the country after the same work and tranquility that only the Elk River Valley and the Home Ranch can provide! This was our 3rd work week, we're headed back again next year.

My wife and my 6-year-old daughter spent 3 nights at Home Ranch.

The entire staff was very pleasant, courteous and helpful throughout our stay, and we feel like we have a new family in Clark, CO.

We were picked up from the Hayden Airport by Lizzie, who is a cross-country ski guide at the Ranch and who iss so knowledgeable about the ranch and not only did she answer all our questions, she was also very patient with my super excited daughter's million questions.

Shelby at the front desk, who is also a fly-fishing guide at the ranch was incredibly helpful to make us feel welcome. She took really good care of our daughter too. She took her see the horses and the two barn cats the first day.

Allison took our daughter with her to feed the chickens, where my daughter fell in love with "Fluffy" and wanted to take her home.

Michael and Harrrison were great at the sleigh ride. Basically the guests hop on the sleigh and go with them to feed the horses and cows. It is a unique opportunity to connect with nature and animals while listening to Michael share his well of knowledge about the ranch and the ranch life.

We also had an amazing experience again with Michael as our guide for our horseback riding around the ranch. While the ranch staff groomed the trail for us following the heavy snow of the previous days, we still had some deep snow our horses had to deal with graciously and our guide Michael's professional, calm and collected demeanor affected all of us in such a positive way we actually enjoyed the challenging ground. My 6 year old daughter was on a horse by herself for the first time and Michael held her and her horse close to him, keeping the reigns in his hands. He made this little girl's experience so much more safe, precious, and memorable.

In the evening, Michael and his wife Dawn were at the living area of the main lodge (where hors d'oeuvres and cocktails are served before dinner every night) to provide us with an amazing feast of live music consisting of their original songs. I bought their cd and if you like mellow American folk music, you should definitely check them out. Just google Michael and Dawn Moon.

I had the misfortune of injuring my ankle and the staff went out of their way to make sure I was included in the ranch life of the guests. They gave me a ride to and from the doctor. Laura was just amazing in helping me that day. They gave me rides between the cabin and the lodge.

Mike, who has been referred to as the rest of the staff as "a legend" in skiing instruction patiently and firmly thought my daughter how to ski for the first time and thanks to his experienced approach, my daughter was skiing in no time!

And, in general, if you are looking to experience an all-inclusive vacation in a ranch where you get to taste Executive Chef Jonathon Gillespie's culinary creations at every meal, where you get the experience a truly authentic ranch life including horseback riding, seasonal activities (snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, hiking, fly-fishing etc.) or opt for the option to just stay in your luxurious cabin, fully stocked with delicious snacks and refreshing beverages, with a hot tub on its deck, don't even think about it and book your trip there.

Thank you Home Ranch and we will see you soon!

Last year was by far our most magical Christmas thanks to The Home Ranch. It breaks my heart that we will not be there this year to celebrate with the amazing friends we made. This was the kind of experience you dream of and one that becomes a most cherished family memory! From the food, which was fitting of Five Stars, to the never-ending activities (horseback riding, tubing, skiing, sleigh rides, nightly activities) to the most incredible, unparalleled staff, The Home Ranch took the greatest care of every little detail. Brooks even went out of his way and drove to the store to get cold medicine for my son, who arrived horribly sick. They took such great care of him, making him special meals and delivering them to our cabin.Speaking of our cabin ... it was magical, with a Christmas tree for us to decorate, plenty of firewood available for the wood stove and a hot tub on the porch - and it was impeccably maintained. I really can't say enough about this place and the people-each and every one. I almost forgot to point out those incredible scones and my favorite nightly cookies!! I look forward to our next visit ... it cannot come soon enough!

Our "Home" dream cabin in the mountains on a working horse ranch! Fabulous cuisine, that innovative and delicious, plus fresh from local purveyors. Excellent wine list, but the friendliness of the staff and the pure beauty of this valley will take your breath away any time of year- in the winter, it's quieter which we prefer, and the fall is spectacular hiking in the Mt. Zirkle wilderness when the leaves are turning. Work up an appetite as you can't resist the cuisine!!

Wonderful inclusive ranch experience. From culinary level meals (farm to table - game & seafood) to all the outdoor winter activities especially horseback trail riding, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. We loved our cabin overlooking the pastures. The staff were interesting, dedicated, and awesome in their jobs and really made our vacation that much more special. Photos taken mid-March. What a gorgeous blend of culinary talent, professional staff, myriad activities to appeal to all
Ages and the intimacy of a family ranch nestled in Aspen groves and under pines. For fishing, the ranch owns three miles of private water along Elk Creek. The fish are monstrous and the catch and release barbless oversight ensures a healthy ecosystem of monstrous rainbows and cut-bows.
