I cannot find words to describe how much i LOVED this place. My bf took me here for my 30th birthday & we had an incredible experience. From the atmosphere, to the food, & the service, everything was top notch! I forgot to mention the drinks too! We had such a great time that i know we will be back again! Great job Ebbitt Room!

I judge a restaurant by the great time I had eating there so it's more than just the food. The service is great as is the food. Me and my wife had a fantastic time. It's not cheap but it's worth it. Especially if you go in the off-season as we did when other restaurants aren't really putting forth the effort.

We ate on the recently remodeled porch for our anniversary. The food was some of the best I have had, farm-to-kitchen fresh. I do not eat gluten and the waiter and kitchen staff were very helpful with my choices. I had the Heritage Tomato Salad with Burrata and Stone Fruit. Each bite was a treat. The Cape May Scallops were perfectly cooked and the risotto was just amazing. The mango/passion fruit sorbet was a perfect finish to our meal on a warm evening.

Just left the restaurant. It was my 40-th birthday dinner. Complete disappointment. My husband's fish was cold and slimy, my son's burger had a wet bun and was quite inedible. My daughter left with a stomach ache after eating the chicken. My salmon was doable, but I had to order a side dish not to eat just a plane fish with some sauce underneath.
We couldn't wait to get out of the place. Definitely will not come back. Stay away. I would rather go to Ugly Mug that's how disappointed I am.

Ambiance is great, service is great, drinks are amazing, food was eh. We've been going here for years and this year we are noticing a decline in both presentation and taste of the food. I went with my family of 6 yesterday and while we did have a good time, for the price we paid the food should've been much better. We had 3 chickens dishes, 2 steak dishes and a scallop dish. Presentation for the chicken and scallop dishes gets a 2/10. There was a lot of blank space on the plate and it made it look like you were receiving very little food. I normally don't care about presentation but this was noticeably bad. Our party agreed that our food was mediocre at best.

Made a reservation to this place during a stay at Beach Plum Farm with friends. It seemed pretty busy in the restaurant (they also have an outdoor area), so would recommend making reservations. We were a party of 6, so we got the private dining space which was nice. I wasn t able to take a closer look inside the actual restaurant, but it looked busy (not sure if tables were 6 apart or not). Everyone wore masks & were very professional.

In terms of drinks, my husband highly recommends the old fashioned and berry crush (bourbon).

The food was excellent. We got the Tomahawk steak special (came with potatoes), Peking duck breast, scallops, mixed greens, charred sweet potatoes, and chocolate cheese cake. I recommend everything except the cheese cake (it was just ok, everything else was perfectly cooked). The mixed greens were very fresh with deliciously light dressing. My friend said the duck was the best she s ever had. The steak was perfectly cooked.

It s also a bit pricey, but worth it for a fancy dinner with friends. Come hungry.

Way way over priced. The hotel bar is in the restaurant and there was a crowd drinking that were obnoxiously loud. We ordered the charcuterie board for an appetizer definitely not a lot of italian meats on it for $28. We ordered the $48 ribeye what a dissappointment. Very bland. Needless to say we are not ever going back there again! Also their wine was way over priced, their least expensive bottle of red was $50.

Would not return.
The whole time every employee's agenda was to upsell. Examples:
We were early for our reservation so they told us to order drinks and wait even though the restaurant was empty.
We did not order appetizers so the waitress awkwardly says our meal will take a long time 'because' we did not order appetizers.
The waitress shoves dessert menus in our faces and said she'll be back for our order without asking if we want dessert.

Food was good though. And reasonably priced.

Wonderful experience! Ambience beautiful, warm and inviting. Food is delicious- pork shop was excellent as was the Cod. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding, a wonderful reminder of England. April was our server and was wonderful- extremely attentive, very helpful. Would highly recommend this as a great experience.

while "new american" is almost cliche, there was nothing ordinary about the menu selections, which included many european preparations of american classics. this is a good place for romance and quiet conversation. do not leave without trying the steamed sticky toffee pudding, something i never thought that i would enjoy.

Outstanding. The chef prepared a vegan ratatouille entree that included a homemade hummus. They accommodated me by creating my own vegan option: the homemade hummus plus their on-menu side of Baby Boc Choy w/ a light Ponzu Sauce and also Broccolini with chili citrus aioli. The hummus was outstanding, the flatbread the came the hummus was served perfectly warm and lightly crisp; and we could not stop eating the Baby Boc Choy: we devoured to big sides of it. The broccoli was also OK but could have been a little crispier for our taste. Others in my party loved the lobster mac & cheese (kids) and also the flounder. We went there during the pandemic and felt very safe by the spacing table, the professionalism of the mask-wearing staff and fans blowing even though it was an outdoor setting.

I had my anniversary dinner at the Ebbitt Room and I was very impressed. The adjoining bar is luxurious and has an interesting mix of classic and signature drinks. The restaurant is in the Virginia Hotel and the lobby area and restaurant is gorgeous. The menu is clever and tasty -- every restaurant in the country that serves calamari as an appetizer should copy and serve the Ebbitt's green bean tempura. The veal saltimbocca was delicious and made me forget any regrets I would have had for not ordering seafood in Cape May. The dessert menu was, again, packed with delicious choices -- I had a flourless chocolate cake that I happily recommend. Service was polite and attentive, but not intrustive. As you might expect, all this didn't come cheap, but I do feel that it was money well spent.

We were booked for the dinner and theater deal. We started our meal at 6 pm but had not had our dessert by 7:25 pm ! We complained and the manageress asked if we would like to eat them on our way over to the Cape May theater. We refused and left. The show started 5 minutes late to accommodate us. Our first experience at the Ebbitt Room and unfortunately we were disappointed.
