Walk down the Arsenalna metro stop (the world's deepest subway), in the form of an open-air museum. There is also a closed section under the statue of the Fatherland. You can go for free parking in the open part and 30 UAH in the closed part. Definitely enter, both reflect the war very well, and the legendary place that will make you say this is what you call a museum. There's a sink downstairs.

What a tragedies Ukrainian people go through and they come back stronger.
I admired how they fight for their right and freedom. The museum is well maintained and organized.

You will take around an hour to finish it.
I highly recommend it.
You can reach by car or walking . I actually walked here and took car to go back

An excellent exposition about the Second World War and the war in the Donbass. The equipment outside is painted with a huge number of layers of paint, sometimes in unnatural colors. The staff is terribly rude. (Although, probably, not all - the educated part was silent, and I could not appreciate). All over the line. The prices are ridiculous.
I think it s worth raising prices fivefold and hiring polite employees for those positions that involve communication with visitors.

The first thing for which it is worth to go is the story. The expositions are very professional. The atmosphere in the museum is imbued with the spirit and, unfortunately, the horror of that time, and of what people had to go through.
The second is this one of the best views of the Dnieper and the left bank of Kiev.

A must-go place if you want to deeply know more about Ukraine!
Here is some background information of the museum
"
The National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War (Ukrainian: ) is a memorial complex commemorating the German-Soviet War located in the southern outskirts of the Pechersk district of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, on the picturesque hills on the right-bank of the Dnieper River.[1]

The museum was moved twice before ending up in the current location where it was ceremonially opened on May 9 (the Victory Day), 1981, by the Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev. On June 21, 1996, the museum was accorded its current status of the National Museum by the special decree signed by Leonid Kuchma, then the President of Ukraine.

It is one of the largest museums in Ukraine (over 300 thousand exhibits) centered on the now famous 62-meter tall Motherland statue, which has become one of the best recognized landmarks of Kiev. The museum has been attended by over 21 million visitors."

Visited this museum more than once, for the first time - with the class at school days. Very valuable experience for all historic museums and museums in general - old photographs, travel arrangements, leaflets and letters - all immerse themselves in wartime and allow you to feel like a piece of history.
A small sector with new exhibits devoted to ATO soldiers was opened - it's great that the museum initiates such things and talks about them.
Foreigners are able to read English translation.
So far, this museum has hit the most in Kyiv - 5/5.

Perfect place for day and evening walks. Magnetic place with brilliant views on the Dnieper and Paton's cities, the majestic Fatherland Mother and the memorial are dedicated to the events of the Second World War and her heroes. There is a museum of military equipment: tanks, helicopters, guns, airplanes, missiles. From there you can easily reach the "Singing Field". Annually a festival of flowers takes place, where each district of the city presents its composition of flowers.

Memories carved in stone and put in metal.
Well maintained and versatile.
Tanks, armed vehicles, artillery - land troops are well presented. Piece of real history.
Covers period of World War II, before and after it.
For aviation part go to National Aviation Museum located at Kiev Zhyliany Airport.

An extremely important place to visit for those who are new to Kiev. It affects the scale. The interior of the statue Motherland Mother is an interesting museum of the Great Patriotic War ". There is also a technology museum on the territory. From tanks to airplanes. Those who like this will like it. There is a great view of the left bank of the Dnieper. I recommend.
