Great place to grab a coffee on the way off the train, and a pastry or sandwich too. All the sandwiches are done as little box lunches with a delicious and supercute salad (flowerpetals, anyone?). Macrons and croissants are great, petit fors are a great alternative to the standard "it's your birthday, here's a cupcake from the coffeeshop/bakery".

Everything the chef would ever need. Prices are high but they have it all. Amazing Gourmet Food and cheeses and spices and condiments as well as every pan and pot and Appliance and utensil under the sun

Excellent place to get your kitchen utensils and eclectic condiments! They're smaller than at the previous Venice space, but everything is still there...

Restaurant quality pots and pans that will last forever as well as gourmet products - one of my favorite places to be.

The food is amazing. Prices are high for the type of place it is.

Surfas is a great business! It is really too bad they decided to close their OC location, however. Most people I've spoken too are unwilling to make the drive to the new location. I hope they figure out a way to broaden their horizons again one day!

If you are into cooking or baking on just about any scale, this place is about as close to paradise on Earth as you're ever likely to find. They have a small deli / coffee counter inside which, perhaps ironically, is a bit limited (most items are pre-made, so there isn't much room to customize), but what they have seems good. (My sandwich was excellent.) It's the middle of LA, so traffic and parking suck, of course.

Cafe is closed, store is moving. bummed to lose this lunch option within walking distance
