We were looking for a safe social distancing activity and the gondola ride worked well. It was not busy mid-week. We had some trouble with our online ticket order but they were able to find it in the system. The bathrooms were clean and we were happy to see masks required in the store. We had read on the website that picnics were encouraged at the area around the restaurant at top of the hill, so we planned on that. We were disappointed to find all the picnic tables corralled in an off limits area. Wish we had known to bring a blanket from the car. Overall, everything was clean and Covid-19 measures were in place. If only we could get all the guests to put on a mask.

Horrible! The building smelled like a locker room and it is so over priced for cafeteria style food. We both had turkey cranberry wraps and I suggest they change the menu to spinach salad wrap with a piece of turkey lunch meat. I would take the ride up on the gondola for beautiful views and hiking but I wouldn't waste my time eating there. Definitely not a $100 lunch by the time you purchase gondola tickets at $56 a couple and $41 for two bad wraps, french fries and a couple beverages.

We loved this place. On the way to Grand Portage and Isle Royale, we decided to stop and ride the gondola to the summit. It was a great decision! The views were amazing. The system was recently updated and the ride is super smooth.
At the top there are some great trails leading to spectacular views.
The Summit Chalet serves snacks and has comfortable outdoor seating.

Views are amazing. They could use signage on how the process works to order. Signs say "Reserved check in at the bar" on the windows yet you seat yourself after you order your food at the bar. They do bring it out for you. The food was made quickly. We took the gondella up the mtn and my daughter (9yo) and I loved that. Pics don't do it justice.

Awesome! A must do solely for the views. The food was surprisingly excellent. Had a bacon cheeseburger and cocktail. Both great. The group enjoyed their food as well. Loved the views!! The ability to walk the surrounding trails on top of the mountain is an added plus. The Gondola ride up provided amazing views and was just fun. The staff were efficient! A really cool thing-to-do when visiting Northern Minnesota!

The chalet is a must do experience in the north shore as it has some of the best views in the area. To get to the summit you have to take a gondola which was super fun and pet friendly. The chalet has a nice resturant which served local beverages including a great alcoholic cider which you can purchase at the winery less than 1 mile away from the base of the mountain. The resturant has a great outdoor deck which allows dogs but the floor is a metal grate which was just large enough to prevent my miniature schnauzer's paws from slipping in. As a result, my pup did not like sitting or walking on the grate. Luckily not too far away are multiple hiking paths, one which connects the the superior hiking trail, and a great outlook where we had lunch on.

Cool chalet with great views. Food and drinks are so so for a ski hill in MN. They could definitely do better. Prices are a bit steep, but not out of line for what you expect while skiing. The views will make up for any short comings. The staff seems less than enthusiastic to work any where here at Lutsen , lots of little things Management should be doing to really wow customers and hope they come back, instead you feel like you entered a tourist trap and are being held hostage for large ransom at this entire resort .

Beautiful overlook of Lake Superior. The chalet is nice enough. The food is what you would expect from a resort chalet on top of the slopes: mostly all fried food or burgers, with a few options for prepackaged sandwiches. The food prices are what you would expect from a ski chalet, more expensive than you would like to pay, but still affordable.

When we were there, they had live music during lunch. The music was great, but pretty loud for the venue. It made it too difficult to hear anyone at your table.
