My name is Steve and my father-in-law passed away the end of November. The sweet, kind and professional staff, as well as the owners, were patient with us getting the financing and arrangements. They never pressured us to pay or hurry. We were treated like family. I highly recommend Strode Funeral Home to anyone who has to face and deal with the death of a loved one.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! The worst experience of my life, on top of my dog already being put down. They deceive people with their pricing (pamphlet says jewelry starts at $45, I actually starts at $175). They told me they can do an ink print but then told me they couldn t only AFTER they had already cremated my dog, so I couldn t figure out a different way to do it. They act like they don t know anything that s going on and they have no idea what happens in this process. Their communication is so vague and complicated. They forgot my baby s blanket and when I called back they said they found it and they would launder it, which I wanted it to not be. But they had already started. Just so frustrating and annoying. I hate that this was the process I had to deal with when letting my baby go. Do not fall in their trap! Go to some other place that actually cares.

Everyone was so helpful at Strodes, especially Ray who worked closely with us in making the arrangements. We used the chapel for the service and Strodes did a wonderful job getting everything ready for us. It is handicap accessible and was a beautiful, bright setting in spite of the dreary, rainy day.

We were told that we're all family when we came in! That they want us to see them as part of my family and that they want us (my husband and I) to feel like we are a part of their family! At first I thought it was just a slogan, but I was soon proved wrong! I handled my dads passing hard and these kind wonderful people were there every step to comfort me and to encourage me along the way! I will never forget them! They are always on your side and they want what's best for you! Grieving is a hard process and they understand every step of it, even when you need to be alone with your loved one so you can yell at them for leaving you with a such a mess! They understand, they understand it all, which is a heavy weight lifted in a situation like this when all it takes is a straw on your back to break you! God bless and hugs to my new family at Stode's!

Anyone who's delt with dealership's will understand. I went into the office to find out about myself and it was the usual chit chat trying to be your friend. Then as soon as I said look let's save some time let me explain what I am looking for. As soon as I had almost finished it became .This is what it cost we can do this or this . When I tryed to finish asking my questions, as I had not agreed to there price. Well I ok opening the door meeting over.

My mom, Mary Davidson, was buried on March 16th. Mom died on March 1, but we couldn t all get back until March 16. Stokes had our mom for over 2 weeks. So why in all that time couldn t they set her hair before the funeral. Mom had beautiful hair, but they only combed it back. It looked dirty and ugly. Mom took great pride in her hair. It was thick and shiny and usually set twice a week. It had never turned grey. She was really proud of it. We were so embarrrassed for her.

We were told several times that her hair would be set before the funeral. It was not.

My suggestions to anyone planning a funeral at Strode Funeral Home is to check on your loved one the day before the funeral and make sure he/she is prepared for their final viewing on Earth.

My dad passed away recently and Strode was professional and helpful throughout the whole process. I cannot say enough good things about them. When we talked with Ray he took his time and we did not feel rushed to make a decision. Several times I called for little things, such as adding something to the obituary or making sure my dad had his tie for the service. At times I felt silly for calling, but they never made me feel that way or that I was bothering them. They really did take care of everything.

A few months ago we had been told our 12 yr old Yellow Female Lab had heart disease & would pass away soon.
We adopted her when our teen sons were very small. She grew up with them-was very protective when a stranger to her was near them. They both couldn t remember a time she wasn t with us. When the time came our local vet euthanized her because she had begun suffering. We had been told Strode helped w/pet cremation.
They went to the vet to pick her up for us. We couldn t bear taking her to them after she passed. They made a paw print for us in clay to remember her. A few days later we picked up her ashes.
I don t know how we could ve coped if we d had to do it all alone.
They were compassionate beyond measure. They ve been part of Stillwater for many generations, it seems like there should be no one but them for our family. We were right. We cannot thank Strode & their compassionate staff enough. It seems a small token in return, but wanted others to know Strode and staff realize for many our pets are our family too....thx so much
