Solid Ground

I was curious about the opening of this coffee, wine, and beer spot. Being as fixated as I am, I thought "meh, let me stop by and see what the fuss is about". I will give this place 5 starts because as any new place, there are things you won't know until you open your door to customers and wait for the feedback. Here are a few points, good and otherwise. First, I would welcome a greeting when people walk in, or perhaps a sign that reads "please seat yourself, if you require assistance please let a staff member know" I.e., handicap necessities and what not. Second, as I experienced, if it is custom to order from the bar, have a sign that states that so people are not waiting at their table or standing, waiting to order. The food was delicious and the beer/coffee?...amazing! Just a few suggestions, I hope it helps.

Now my second time at this brewery and they still haven't made the signs any clearer which should state that you should order at the bar. I would highly recommend something more visible because people seems to walk right by the sign outside and the sign at the bar is tiny and I only noticed because I happened to be staring at the lights. The amount of food you receive isn't that great, I would recommend a bit bigger portion sizes for the price.

The people and the food where awesome and the music was a rockin.

Awesome! My husband and I enjoyed our time here very much--from getting to see the "behind the scenes" area, to the special Opera on the Hour event, to the beer (of course!) and the food.
Definitely recommend!

Beer is ok at best. If I was the owner I would fire all the servers and hire someone that cares about there job and costumer's

Staff seemed very nice. Place was crowded as they had event but staff seemed to handle crowd just fine. Didn't order any food. Not a lot of spots for parking in front of place, however they have additional parking . Can't wait to go again.

The only reason I give 3 stars is there food menu isn't the greatest. No dinner only snacks. Service is great and I'm not a beer drinker and they had wine.

This is the first time I have been to solid Ground brewing. I was truly impressed. First of all, their concern for the customers safety regarding the pandemic. The outdoor seating was comfortable and cool at noon today. Misters worked well. Rose was a very personable server/employee and very pleasant and accurate. I would definitely go back again many times and recommend it to my friends

Totally loved this place! Beer and food was good, and the service was great! IBW were playing and the place was packed, indoors and outside area. They can handle a large crowd. We tried the spinach salad topped with fresh peaches and the fries, both were so good. It is children and dog friendly.

Ran out of a few foods and food delivery was intermittent for the same table. I had finished my plate before my parents got theirs.

Stopped by after a hike on a whim and, man, were the beers great! Hard to go wrong, but they seem to have a penchant for experimenting with combining wine with beer to great effect

Beer was beer. Poor food selection. I ordered a sand which which consisted of bacon and avocado and it took 45 minutes.

Stumbled on in on Friday after having a doozy next door at Allez. To my surprise, the customer traffic was outstanding. It made the drinking experience more memorable than it probably was. Service was great. The bartenders are there to help, they were friendly, and were the best part about my visit.
The beer was not terrible by any means, but I wouldn't drink it regularly. I grew up on Saison's, and I don't think the offerings at Solid Ground were any better than average. In my opinion, the downfall was somewhere in the yeast. The IPA's were ok. The Trango is on the Milkshake IPA side and it was loaded with fruit, not much hops. Again, not my preference. The Clouds Rest tasted like a West Coast NE IPA if that makes sense to beer snobs. It was good at first, but the appeal was lost after about 6 oz.
Overall, very happy I was able to check this brewery off the list. They have great ambition, a wide range of styles, and don't compromise with providing a beautiful location to grab a decent beer.

When we drove down from Camino (a few weeks ago) and tried to park, the place was packed! Sure happy that that didn't stop us ole seniors!
There were about 6 of us that went to have a decent time...ended up the "decent" soared to "a hella great time" in minutes! The band was amazing and never took a break....what!
Food was perfect, of course the wine and brew were right on! All ages from babies to seniors. Felt like everyone knew each other. Great place to go and can't wait till warmer season although that really didn't make a difference. This place is a MUST GO!

They are dead serious about their beer here. Atmosphere is great.

Good beer selection from Pilsner to IPA to sours. Kitchen has good selection of foods name from their onsite smoker. Counter staff is hit and miss but eventually get the job done. Facility is always clean and has been gorgeously remodeled top to bottom.

Great venue, good beer and food. However I do wish they had a pale ale frequently on tap

First time there so I'm not familiar with all the beer name but I had the Kabru IPA and loved it and a tropical hazy IPA which was really yummy. And then there's the food the dirty fries were bomb but the pulled pork burrito on another level can't wait to go back. Photos to come next time.

Love the beer, food and folks behind the bar. This is the real deal artisan brewery. I make it a habit to stop in at least once a week.

Excellent service with outstanding food and beer! Dakota served us with quick, friendly, and savvy service while Jessica cooked Salmon Tartine with Garlic fries with precision and love! Eaten with delight. Highly recommend!

Great place. Unique. Has different brews every time I go. Love it every time.

Day 1 for the public at Solid Ground. Staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Casey, one of the owners, is working the crowd, giving tours of the brew room and talking beer with the patrons. And finally, the beer.. fantastic! Light to dark, excellent through out the range. Get a flight and find your favorite. Cheers!!

Great venue for some beer w/ indoor and outdoor seating and one of the tastier grilled cheese sandwiches I have had in a while. The beer menu was wide and varied w/ a little something for most tastes. My favorite option was the Christmas Ale, it was full of tasty winter spices and had a great mouth feel. IN 2nd place was their Hefeweizen that had a nice fruity aroma and that great banana ish flavor at the end. Good stuff. We also got some food, both their slider options and the grilled cheese. The Grilled cheese was quite good, the Sliders were flavorful and their fries were yummy. It's a little out of the way I suppose, but worth a stop if heading in that direction.

Relaxed, family friendly brewery with yummy bites and great beer.

OMG! Their beer is amazing! It is simple, you take grain add hops a lot of water and some yeast. So many breweries fail to get it right. Solid Ground is spot on in creating these liquid masterpieces of flavor. Their tap room is awesome! Very modern for a brewery and the food is really top notch and very consistent.

Clean place friendly staff. The food and drinks were worth a second visit.

Great brewery. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable. Beers are great. Killer selection. Some crazy beers too. My wife loves that they serve wine too as she does not drink beer. Food is delicious. Love the Sunday brunch. Can't go wrong here. These guys know what they are doing.

1st time here. Made it a lunch stop. We will be back with fellow crafty foodies. We had the KABRU (west coast IPA) loaded fries & sliders w/ blucheese & St. Tacos (not pictured). Nomnomnom! The staff was friendly service was quick the area was clean and hip the food was fab. Thanks alunch!

With so many breweries open it's great to see these guys doing what it takes to make it right. Glad to have another great brewery in the Placerville area.

Always a great place!! Brews are great so are the wines. The food is amazing. Stop by for a snack and a brew or stay for dinner. The wait staff are knowledgeable and fun.

Decided to plan a last minute trip to Placerville. We had a couple hours to kill before checking in and decided to check out SG. We both absolutely loved their well balanced variety of beers. We each did flights and ended up with a growler of Cosmic to go. We also had sliders and fries and they were good as well. We had our three year old in tow and there were a bunch of other kids there too. Kid friendly. Highly recommend!

Went there on Saturday night. There was a band and there was a great crowd. Had their hazy at it was very good.

Had a great time. Tried a beer flight and some sliders. Great beer and sliders were delicious.

Slow service for the lunch hour, only one person doing everything. Kitchen is slow, if you have a lot of time, then fine, but to wait 30 minutes to order a second beer, really?

Came with my family for a lunch. I personally didn't have any drinks, but the food was okay. The fries were a little too salty, but otherwise could have been the best fries ever. I had puttanesca, but there was too much oil when I got half-way through it. The environment was clean and really interesting. The server was nice, but I didn't like tipping before I even had an experience or food. I like when I know I gave a good tip for a good person and good time.

Outdoor tables, interesting beer. I liked the DEVILS ISLAND blend.

It was okay but has the potential to be great...no TVs weird right? Now days there are great brewery info for TVs that tell customers about beer etc....maybe they are just new seemed a little Spartan....

Had two beers and then a flight. All fantastic beers - need to go back for more. Only had appetizer, but it was top notch - other plates I saw on tables looked fantastic. So glad this place is here.
