Shimada is by far one of the most talented hairdressers I have ever met and had do my hair. I have experimented with curly perms, relaxers and hair weaves and each time I was very pleased and impressed with his work. Aside from his outstanding work, he is an amazing person! He makes you feel comfortable, gives great advice about hair and other things. It's a pleasure to be around him and an honour to have him do your hair! He's done friends' hair and we are all of various races with a variety of hair textures. So happy and proud of him opening up his new space close to metro BIlbao. I recommend him 100%

I felt at home, and besides, although I thought I was crazy because my hair was badly treated for discoloration and I had to remove the bad part and it was too much, because I left super happy and grateful because I was great. I love Shimada's salon. Shimada is highly-skilled, and extremely sensitive to my needs. The atmosphere there is wonderful. I walked into his salon with extremely damaged hair and left with hair that was bouncy and shiny. Shimada welcomed me and made me feel beautiful. He is the only one I would trust with my hair. Shimada is very warm and friendly so it s always a pleasure to stop by his salon and get my hair done. He s also VERY professional, even with his small dog Taku in the shop, who is very well-behaved. You ll leave the salon with a great hairdo and much healthier hair than you walked in with!
Shimada is an artist. I discovered him a few years ago by chance and have never let anyone touch my hair since. He never lets me leave the salon unless my hair looks amazing. He never rushes our visit. Ever. I have fake blond hair and it looks healthy and shiny and I just can't recommend him enough!!

Shimada is a Godsend! I was really contemplating going back to the US just for a magic straight perm with my usual stylist. So glad I trusted him with my hair. It s one of the best perms I ve had in years!!! The product he uses doesn t have the usual strong chemical scent found in Korean salons. I highly recommend him for anyone that is scared of the language barrier or has any type of curl.

I have been to Shimada twice, and each time has been a wonderful experience. I recently moved to Madrid for school, and was worried about finding someone that could take care of my hair (it's natural but I wear it straight). Someone recommended him, and I am so glad they did! He is professional, but not uptight, warm and friendly, and your hair will love him!
Shimada cut off almost 10 inches of hair for me to donate and it was a fantastic experience. We talked about what I wanted and he made sure that everything was how I wanted before he took out the scissors. He even brought out his tape measure to make sure we were cutting the right amount! He is kind, welcoming, skillful and a very enjoyable person to talk to. Absolutely recommend his services but book ahead because he is in high demand (and rightfully so).
While on vacation my wife booked an appointment at this salon at the recommendation of a friend that went to him in the states. She can never make up her mind on what she wants to do with her her and usually leaves all other salons with a feeling that she should ve done more. Her words are they never have time to guide me in to a style I m completely comfortable with. Well this man has changed that. She came back in our room strutting and I was blown away. I ve been going to Shimada for about a year now and have loved everything he has done with my hair. Ive gotten highlights, conditioning treatments, and cuts and all have been perfect. Shimada is AMAZING! He cared for my natural African-American hair over the course of several months while I was working abroad in Madrid. He gave the best trims/cuts I have received in my life and was extremely knowledgeable about the care of my hair. I am so grateful to have found him in Spain and have yet to find his equal here in the States. I wish I had the money to fly him over to continue caring for my strands. I booked an appointment with Shimada after hearing rave reviews from a friend. As someone who has thick, Afro Caribbean curly hair I have struggled over the years to find someone who can manage my hair in the way that I want. Shimada listened to my guidelines as to what I wanted and honestly, has given me a cut that was down to a T. I was in the salon the best part of 2 hours and was treated impeccably and felt super relaxed the whole time. I felt listened to as a customer and we had a great hoot talking and laughing. The cost was unblievealy reasonable for the experience that I had and I will not only be recommending him but returning myself when I am due a trim. Great salon, cannot recommend enough!
Shimada is an amazing hairstylist and to top it off he is a beautiful person inside and out. I had a lot done - base color, highlights, cut and blow dry and he took his time with me. It was such an enjoyable visit and I'm thrilled as my blonde hair looks fantastic. His dog, Taku is too precious and such a smart little guy. Shimada Kemp is honestly the best stylist I ve had the pleasure of going to. I got a haircut my last visit and I absolutely LOVE IT!! It s hands down the best cut I ve ever gotten. My hair falls and swoops so prettily now and is so healthy! Not only is Shimada great but his skills are the bomb, AND his adorably friendly pup Taku is just the icing on the cake.

Shimada is not only an absolute gem of a person, but my hair hasn't looked this good in years! I have a LOT of hair and have had some bad haircut experiences in the past that have made me a little nervous to get it cut again, but Shimada put all my worries at ease and was so fun to talk to- not to mention he has the most adorable little dog! I can't recommend him enough. I felt like a movie star when I left his salon and I will definitely be coming back!
