Thank you for all you ve done for my family and I. Thank you for beach retreat

My family took me to Second Baptist for over a decade while I was growing up. I attended the church beach retreat. This past Sunday, the big electric sign out front said in big bold highlighted letters, "MONEY MAKES US WISE"....

I was deeply upset by this message. Looking at the location, the cars in the parking lot, and the message... Is this to say that if you have no money, you are a fool? It did not say "The love of money is the root of all evil", or "A fool and his money are soon parted". What about the spiritual people who take a vow of poverty? What about Jesus Christ? What would Jesus say?

This is a wonderful place to worship. I have been a member for several years.

I have been a part of this church for around 12 yrs. Our family loves it! I'm really glad I found this church, fore it has filled our lives with God's word. I also enjoy our church family. When I was unsure what church I was going to attend, God answered my prayers.

Such an inspiring place to be. Ed Young brings it every week.

This church has come a long way from where it use to be. I would visit and no one would say hello except during the services when you had to greet your neighbor. I chose to leave and visit another church and I enjoy it better. They greet you with open arms. I have to say in listening to the sermon pastor Ed Young spoke on the prodical son. He used Prince Harry and Megan as examples. I think this was an unfair example cuz Harry didnt want to leave. He had to make a choice to protect his family. Megan was experiencing the same harrassment as his mother did and he made a difficult choice but the only choce to protect his wife. That to me speaks volumes and I commend Harry for doing so. He loves his wife. Mr Yound should have used another example that is more fitting to his description of the prodical son.

Their staff is very attentive and friendly, prepared theologically, loving, he has parking Buenos and care about leadership training.

This is such a loving and wonderful place to worship and do life.

The celebration of the life of Jo Beth today was a glory to God.

this church is huge, but it s a family. The staff really makes an effort to know everyone & they succeed. If you have a teenager BEACH RETREAT is amazing & i recommend it 10/10 my first year i didn t know anyone and by the end of the week i had lots of friends & i even connected with the staff the counselors. #WestIsTheBest

It was such a beautiful Graduation of life for Jo Beth today. A lot of laughs and a lot of tears. Prayers still going for family. She will be missed.

Great church led by Dr. Ed Young. The church makes everyone feel welcome to hear God's word.

Great family environment, good service on Sundays. Our kids take bible classes here and have been impacted and influence them to be better teenagers since going to this church. God bless.

Second Baptist Church is a great place to meet people from all walks of life while being in God's house. There are always activities going on to join and many Sunday school classes to choose from. The members are very helpful and gracious about showing people around, getting them involved, and making one feel welcome. I'm new to the city and I'm really glad I came to Second.

My place of worship.they offer Bible study for all ages and v b s guaranteed to be fun and spiritual uplifting.dr. young and other pastors teach GOD's word. Currently we are reading the BIBLE in 52 weeks. A place of worship. Praying. Sharing, listening, singing praise, and learning ways to apply GODS word to everyday living. Always a blessing.

Spectacular productions, wonderful facilities, great messages, friendly people

I'm not a fan of the churches but it's fine since they give their classes there that will at least help someone to know something about God or other things.

I grew up at Second Baptist Church school, where I went to school for 12 years, and also was a member of the church then, and then a member of the church now. it seems like with the five campus location strategy that the main facility is stretched a bit then and terms of content. it is not exactly what it used to be in terms of a spiritual experience and fellowship, which I miss very much.

To God be the glory. I love my church. Ed Young is terrific. Jesus is Lord.

I asked the pastor for financial help for rent (to avoid eviction) and auto repossession and was told the church refuses to help people who have NOT attended this church for 6 months. Needless to say, I lost my vehicle and apartment. Thank you Ed Young for leading the most worthless church in Houston. Your church is a criminal enterprise that deserves to be shut down.

Clearly, Second Baptist is an organized criminal enterprise.

Great experiences on so many levels. Second is alive! Second is Bible-centric. Parishioners are passionate and devoted Christians.

Second Baptist is huge, but personal. Navigating Second is made easier with their many friendly faces and by their online tools.

Weekly sermons encourage introspection and community. Both traditional and contemporary services are offered. A word of caution For those who do not care for loud music, the music portion during the contemporary service averages near 100 decibles with frequent peaks of 106 decibles or more.

Every year is a wonderful story at Second Baptist Woodway campus in the Chritsnas Show, full of talented artists, singers, dancers and acrobats telling a Christmas story is an amazing experience where you can feel the spirit of the real meaning of Christmas.
Will recommend for all the family to go.

Staff and volunteers are so friendly. Here for security check then shuttle to St. Martin's Episcopal Church, to honor Barbara Bush. What a great lady!

This is a church wonderland. Very welcoming. Informative people were there to help me navigate throughout the large building and even to the children s church.

I ve visited there several times, but it was a long time ago. Perhaps I should stay just a bit longer. Then life makes you drift away on the tides of time. It makes me if I am wonderful ever to get to come back and visit again. Here s to good memories; five stars my friends.

Its a beautiful Church! I went to the unashamed tour, and it was fabulous. The guy in charge of the spotlight next to me, was super dedicated the fuse was blowing so he used his foot to hold the fuse and his hand to hold the on button. Anyways beautiful Church wonderful staff awesome for letting the concert be there.

I used to go here as a child, it has grown a lot. 2nd Baptist is a great place for Christmas Eve mass, and Sunday mass, I would recommend going to the early service.

I visited here while volunteering when helping hurricane Harvey victims. This structure is impressive!

Most services are good, but people are rude there! It's not a welcoming church.

What a beautiful church. There was quite a crowd there for a special service. The gentlemen kindly welcomed all visitors. The reception area is very accommodating.

Lines themselves up with political parties. Like god needs to be tied in with politics. The Republicans need it, God hmm not so much. Now God did say be all things to all people. All you did in your sermon was tell me you are of this world and not Gods teaching. Good luck with your agenda and count me out.

Second Baptist is a wonderful church full of loving and caring people. Everyone always makes my family feel welcome and comfortable. They have numerous bible study classes available as well as many events for the kids. Awesome church!

The new Atrium in E building is built so well for meeting new friends and community members for your faith walk. Come as you are and you will be welcomed!

Passion Week before Easter done every year gets better! I'm so impressed with their knowledge and patience with every new child of God that comes knocking at their door.

So much opportunity and very large campus with many members allows for anyone to find their place in small group or any other mission that God has prepared. You Belong here.

I have attended church services at Second Baptist since 1975. Also, I have attended services at various other Baptist churches, Methodist churches and Episcopal churches.
However, I found my niche at Second Baptist especially after the arrival of Dr. Ed Young in 1977. This is one of the finest churches I have ever been in, the people are friendly and helpful, and is the essence of spirituality with faith in God and his son, Jesus Christ.
To anyone looking for a church home I recommend Second Baptist. Dr. Young and Pastor Maxey are both great men of and for GOD.

This is my home church. Though it s big and can be intimidating for people with anxiety, such as myself, I feel very comfortable there. Dr. Young always delivers a wonderful message.

I was a member of Second for many years. It's unlikely that I ever would be again. Dr. Young's teaching is ok, usually. I wouldn't say it was deep. I have heard him insert a phrase in the Bible that isn't in the Word. He also talks about inviting Jesus into one's heart. That's a popular but inaccurate gospel appeal. One is saved through grace by faith, not invitation. Also, for the most part, members are just a number. Yes, you can get to know people in Bible study, but even many of those are larger than many churches. Check out many of the reviews, which mention the amenities but don't say anything about spiritual growth.
