Scheels Overland Park

The staff here is amazing. I mostly shop in the bicycle area, but even walking through the store, everyone says hello or asks if I need help with anything.

First visit. Store was clean and well lit. Employees were friendly and helpful. Thankful they have a decent selection of hockey skates because it's a waste land in this area for them. And buying online without trying on is just asking for trouble.

Me and my wife had such a wonderful experience in here. It was our first time and my wife needed to be fitted for a bra. Abbie B. was amazing. Very, very helpful! We are a lesbian couple and my wife has felt uncomfortable every where else we have been with getting fitted and anyone else seeing her in a bra. Abbie was very professional and stuck with for about an hour until a decision on a bra was made! It's wonderful to shop in a place and not be judged and experience wonderful customer service. Wish I could her 10 out of 5 stars!

It is the hugest Scheel's I have ever seen. When I was in Minnesota I loved to go to Scheel's so often since this store usually have a variety of selections and even some free food samples! I moved to KC few years ago. I was kinda sad because I can't go to Scheel's anymore. By the way, I got the news that a new Scheel's was coming to KC last year (maybe?). Then finally I visited this location in Overland Park today. It was an amazing store as expected. It was so impressive!!

The store is awesome and is a great place to get out and walk around, especially if the little ones are driving you crazy. There was a great deal of detail put in on the store and the layout. The fish tank is quite amazing and is one of my son's favorite things to see.

I absolutely loved it the minute I entered the store. As you walk in you see a mini aquarium walk way filled with tropical fish. Then as you go passed it you see a giant ferris wheel that you may ride for only $1. The experience is amazing! There are also many items you may buy, from clothing to fitness, from sports items to a cafe, to even a cute little furniture store. Scheels also includes little booths all over the 2nd level with animals you can pose with and take a picture.

My wife isn't a mask wearer, why, she was traumatized as a child and the mark is a trigger. We walked in as a family some wearing my wife not. We were asked if we needed a mask said no and they said we have free ones to use. Never were we asked if we needed help, we were stopping in for a pair of mens Ecco Trek 25, a $250 boot. This place doesn't care about your safety. The two employees that confronted about masks both were wearing cotton ones and each touched their masks thus contaminating and didn't replace, I can only assume from lack of knowledge, and that they likely don't wash their masks. FYI, you aren't able to enforce a medical issue on someone with medical reasons, per HIPAA. Scheels feel free to contact me if you want. FYI I will NOT be a customer any longer

Huge sporting goods store, with something for everyone.

Moderate to high price items. Usually busy. The ferris wheel is only a dollar to ride and very fun for kids. Overall a great place to spend an hour.

Kinda pricey looking sporty items. Fish tank, gun games, mini-bowling, and ferris wheel to enjoy also. 1 dollar gets you a ferris ride, 5 frames mini-bowling, or gun simulation games.

They have everything and more. You can get a Starbucks, shop, bowl, spend 3hrs and enjoy lunch before a ferris wheel ride. It's the most fun I've ever had in a Sporting goods store.

I was impressed. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I have not been in a Scheel's that big before. Bring the kids or the kid at heart, they have ferris wheel inside. Looked like fun.

Went to find sporting gear and workout equipment. Staff is kind, considerate and friendly. Dave in gym workout equipment was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They have a good selection of items.
Store has a ferris wheel, attractions for the kids, and a furniture and home accessories area. It's an excellent store for the whole family. I gave 4 of 5 stars for some items are not carried or in stock.

Bought nice item here today, was told curtly by manager no boxes available but some will be there later in holiday season (it's already November). Did not feel manager cares about customers. I also believe that Scheels carries enough nice merchandise and makes enough money to have boxes for its customers. Went to another nearby retail store (Von Maur) today, spent less money there, but was treated so much better. The people there were courteous and made me feel like they appreciated their customers.

Great help. Went in to pick up a bicycle helmet and got some extra help with my child's bike reflector.
The attendant was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the differences in grades of helmet so I could select the best one for me.

Good quality and name brand things, just way WAY to expensive.

Great store not only for shopping but also for pure entertainment. The 16,000 gallon salt water tank is amazing to look at and who doesn't enjoy a Ferris wheel ride in a climate controlled environment. They have such a huge variety of sports teams gear that it could take half a day to look through it all. And if it does, they have a restaurant on premise to take care of your hunger. There is a miniature bowling alley for the kids and a laser light shooting range for kids and adults to enjoy. There is an entire display of animals that have had a visit to the taxidermy and is a lot of fun to look at.

What an awesome store, something for everyone! Love it!

The staff were very excited to greet you the day of opening and ready to answer any questions you might have, they have a stunning fish tank at the entrance of the store and a crazy ferris wheel. The selection of equipment and clothing is huge and checkout was fast. My favorite sporting goods store so far! I will definitely be back!

Bought snowboarding gloves here. The FIRST time I put them on, the elastic band broke. Cheap, cheap, cheap. This place is like WalMart. Terrible quality products made in China, but draped in the US flag so you don't notice.

I will never go to a competitor again. I just went to Scheels for my first time yesterday. I bought a firearm and did the credit card. Zero interest for half a year. I then saw a firearm that they didn't show that they had "in stock" online. I then price checked the firearm and asked if they would price match a competitor and they did! I had already left so I called and asked and the associate and he took the firearm off the floor and saved it for me. I went back today (second visit) and it was waiting for me at the matched price with absolutely no hassle. Every associate i dealt with was helpful and kind. When i walked through the store i was greeted and welcomed. It was a completely different feeling than when I'm at a large local competitors store. So, in two days I've gotten two very good deals and learned that they will match any legitimate competitor. In my opinion Scheels in Overland Park has the best customer service of anywhere I've ever bought a firearm (I've bought dozens in my lifetime). I will be back and I will be doing the price match again. Thank you everyone I dealt with on Sat and Sun this weekend. No hassle and very respectful. Most of all I got what I wanted and I received excellent deals on what I wanted. Awesome store!!!!

Fun new store with lots to see and do. Food in cafe was surprisingly good! I am too chicken for the ferris wheel, but have been told it is great fun!

My family and I love shopping here! There is always something for all of us. The staff is so helpful and ready to meet all of your needs. My family loves the huge aquarium section just as you walk in the doors. My kids also like to ride on the Ferris wheel which is a really neat concept that sets them apart from other sporting goods stores. They also have a small restaurant inside which has a great menu that is always evolving. It really is a one stop shop for all of your sporting good needs. Their prices are pretty comparable with other sporting good stores but they usually have a good selection of clearances items. Great atmosphere, great service, great people. Enjoy the experience!

I went in here after going to both Bass Pro in Independence and Cabela's. This is the far superior outdoor store. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable. They might be a bit more than Bass pro or Cabela's. However, they have the right gear for the job. I found a wide range of brands for boots and clothing. If you want quality products this is the place. I saw new and used guns and bows. The archery counter was busy and the staff were working on bows and having a good time. They have everything you could need to get outside in whatever sport you wanted.

I love how friendly the staff is. They are the best and they know their product.

Delightful place for 2 moms and 2 six-year-olds to spend a cold afternoon. Ferris wheel, fish, play space, ice cream, and a little shopping.

Pretty cool store. Kids enjoyed the Farris wheel, I nearly went into vertigo with the height of the ride. Didn't end up buying anything, however, my brother found these rubber wedding rings he thought was the neatest idea yet.

Staff members were not that friendly when I was there but at least they were helpful.

Susie from the shoe department is amazing! She is attentive to detail and your needs. Went in to purchase some supportive shoes for work and she made sure to ask all the questions she needed to find the right shoe for me. Even had me walk, measured my feet and looked at my arches to determine which shoe was a right fit. Please give this lady a raise or bonus. She's awesome!

If you need sports equipment, this is the spot. If you want to ride a faris wheel in a department store, this is also the spot. Lots of fun things to do here, bring the kids and spend an hour or two.

Customers service is great here. I had a gentleman by the name is Mike help me in the baseball/softball area and he was very knowledgeable of all the products. Ask for Mike.

Scheels is a beautiful, spacious building with a large variety of good to high quality products. This is not your low dollar option for sports gear shopping. They are staffed up and all staff are friendly and helpful.

The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable. I didnt have cash for the games and my son was upset and a staff member let us play a round for free! great cafe food at a reasonable price!

Scheels has something for the entire family inside of this store! Sporting equipment and clothing for everyone and it's a wide variety of brands and options. A restaurant in the back. Home decor upstairs. This is a great store that often has sales and already has the best prices in town.
