Rockford is a fantastic mental health facility. I had been misdiagnosed and as a result, taking medications that weren't working for me. Dr. Germosen was incredibly knowledgeable and balanced my new medications in a matter of days. The nurses and staff were incredibly helpful and caring. I was scared to go at first, but so glad I did. Rockford saved my mental health and I am forever grateful!
depressing building with sticky floors and minimal cleanliness. GREAT staff, easily the best part of my experience (Mr. Andy, Mr. Anthony, and the adolescent unit nurses are awesome). terrible food and many people were there for different reasons than me, but i did manage to build connections with people who had similar issues to me. a few people were violent with staff and each other, but that was a rare occurrence. overall, not the worst but certainly not the best.
Cannot get a prescription filled because it requires the dr to authorize with insurance company. This is the 2nd time they have done this. It's very frustrating especially when had specified to please not do this again. Why do you prescribe something, cut the patient loose knowing they going to have a hard time trying to get that prescribe.

This place needs stop giving papers and coddling, and instead do ted talks and real life help. I told co-inmates the truth about life and not what you guys practice, it won't help em at all. Give em the truth about surviving out in the world with mental health problems not coping methods, make them suceed not suffer. Staff were cool, doctors were okay, helped me with my after covid health problems so thats a plus. But were adults, don't coddle the adults. Family sessions need to go, im 23. not 15/16/17. In the real world, your on your own. You guys gotta get that into your system about making the adults survive in the world and push em, not coddle em. Kitchen Staff got changed, and the food was absoltely top tier, way above the line of work, seasoning, portion sizes and everything else. They need a raise. All these reviews that talk negative about the place never been to actual horrible places it seems. This was the chillest, coolest spot i been. i've seen zombies, i seen fights, blood, tatrums etc in 3 other places, that will give ya truama dude.. Just gotta get rid of the coddling agenda, won't help for the real world. Definitely need to focus on cleaniness in the group rooms more.
it was nice the staff was rude and mean but they kinda help
sickening that this place is not shut down. mentally unwell people should not be treated worse than prisoners
Do not send your kids here! I was drugged & brought here while I was 2 months pregnant. This place DESTROYED ME!!!! 7 years later & this place still haunts me, just looking at the pictures makes me cry. I wouldn t wish this type of treatment on my worst enemy. These people are so evil.
If i could give 10 stars i would. This place was the best place for my daughter , after a failed 20 day inpatient stay at Dover behavioral health , Rockford got it right! They have the best staff and the best programs and are all about the kids! Not sure what s up with the negative reviews but - this place is Amazing! I am forever grateful!
Staff were very rude and dismissive and quite often cursed at and taunted patients and sometimes laughed at people's breakdowns. Fights were a regular thing. Contraband was a regular thing. No programming at all. Patients are left to watch TV and socialize. This was simply a lesser form of jail even though most people were there on a voluntary basis attempting to get help. If you truly need help or want a better way of life then DO NOT go here
