Delicious! Fast-food style dine in or takeout vegan(!) ramen spot with the cutest decor. Friendly and helpful staff; you can tell that they really care. Ordered the yuzu shoyu and summer sonic on our visit. The yuzu shoyu was a bit on the salty side, but we both loved the summer sonic and even got a second one to go!

Masterpiece is a real master piece!
Clean and cool place. Extremely helpful employees and they are so respectful.
My meal was pretty cool! Rich aroma and spices were balanced. Nudes were ok but could be more tasty. I am not sure they are home made! Generally everything was great! Thanks Red&white

My daughter and I both really loved the food here. The tofu (w/carrots, broccoli, cauliflower) rice and the red rice are both excellent rice bases. I love how the veggies options are all warm and lightly flavored, but not bland. The topping sauces were really great as well. I also had miso avocado added and it was really yummy. I think I would have it w less sauce next time because avocado became very filling. We are from the Bay Area in California and would love to see this vegan food there!!

This restaurant was super super amazing!!! Friendly greeting and smiling faces as soon as we walked in! It's a brand new place so we were asked if we had been there before, which we hadn't, then they proceeded to explain everything to us step by step while we built our delicious bowls! They gave us some samples to help us decide. The food and flavor of everything was INCREDIBLE! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Will come here to eat again!

Glad to have found this place. Will definitely return. Extremely flavorful soup (we had King & Queen and Masterpiece). Generous portion; good value. Wish they had more outdoor seating, but this is Newbury St. Very friendly staff. I encourage you to support this restaurant; hopefully you'll be as pleased as we were.

Lightweight, healthy, not too salty, super fast service. Good selection. I love the simplicity. The music was miyazaki <3 walked in to Nausicaa Valley of the wind playing.

Highly recommend trying the detox (mushroom apple blend) and yuzu sauce (tangy savory)! The monk curry is their most popular sauce.

Went to Red White in late December looking for a dose of vegetables and deliciousness. This place hit the mark. The interior is fun and inviting, the service is friendly and thoughtful - each table comes equipped with a box of tissues for the inevitable spicy-sauce induced runny nose. The music is upbeat, funky, and relaxed. We had the classic and the forbidden with udon noodles. The sauce bases are spiced just right and full of umami. The vegetable toppings hold their own against the base, making for the ultimate comfort food.

Such a great place for a Vegan meal. when traveling there are some places you wish were in your home town so you could come back often. This is one of those places. It may be easy to pass it on a dark night but it is worth the effort to find this place. The owner takes great pride in his craft and it shows in every bowl. This is a must for visitors and locals alike.

This place is so good!!! They serve super flavorful rice bowls with lots of veggies to choose from that you can add, along with a choice of various sauces. I got the monk curry with the spicy vegan mayo drizzle, and it s so freaking delicious, I can t even. It s in a great location on Newbury St really close to the Pru, and it s definitely going to be a part of my normal rotation for grab and go lunch spots in the area!

Everyone waiting in line at Sweetgreen for the same salad they have every day made the wrong choice today when they got in that line. Go try RedWhite Japanese Vegan on your next lunch break, and you won t be sorry!

I cannot express enough my love towards this place. Its such an amazing amazing place to have your lunch/dinner/post-workout meal or anything. The food is always fresh and we get so many healthy options too. Staff is always welcoming and loving. It doesn't matter if you are vegetarian/non-veg the food will win your heart always!

Good place to go for a very savory and filling meal!

My cousin and I went a week or after the opening so they still seemed to be settling in. Timing was a bit slow on a few things and staff didn t know the full ingredients list yet but you could tell they were truly sorry for the wait time.

The bowl itself was very good. I picked white rice with the power option. Each topping group is pre-selected but you can mix and match so that s nice. Go for the mushroom, it s very savory and delicious. I added a yuzu sauce, which is not a liquid sauce but more of cooked-down veggie base. Lastly, I had the moringa mint smoothie. Not bad but seemed a little unbalanced in flavor; maybe too heavy on the kale/kiwi?

What was exciting to see what the very cute decor paired with woodwind Studio Ghibli soundtrack. There was also a gentleman who did not seem to stop wiping down the counters the whole time we were there. Hygiene is definitely important to them!

All in all, good place to go if you have a little extra lunch time. If not, perhaps give them a week or two to get running in ship shape and then definitely go for a meal!

This is my first time ordering from Redwhite. I ordered delivery through Grubhub. I am so pleased and happy with how my food turned out. I called the store to make sure they received my order which they did. My build your own bowl tasted great and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. I will order from them more often :)

Awesome. I am picky when it comes to noodles but this guy nailed it. The broth he makes is a master piece. It's hard to find vegan food especially good noodles. Also the service was very nice. The owner/chef served us himself, you don't see that often. We will definitely go back for more

My first vegan meal was delicious. I had the red rice, cauliflower, Brussels sprout, corn with the Yuzu sauce. The staff was very accommodating, friendly and patient. They took time explaining the ingredients and took out the spinach and kale out of my Morning Mint smoothie which tasted magical. I am definitely going back.

The food was incredible as expected by the reviews. I ve never written a review but this place deserves to be recognized. And what really amazed me was the incredible service and wonderful staff. The way they even prepared my dish with such care and delicacy really made me enjoy my dish that much more ! (I had the miso ramen) I ve tried a lot of ramen shops around Boston and I can definitely say that this one lands at #1 for me.

This was incredible. I got the Harvest bowl with udon and it had the best Japanese broth ever. They also have tofu as a base which is something I ve never seen before, but that s what I ll definitely get next.

Highly recommend for anyone in the area for a quick delicious healthy dish!

Red White is my go-to. This is the best Japanese food I've had in the states (it's authentic!), and the service is efficient and incredibly friendly. Every worker makes me feel like I know them personally. Delicious food and amazing people; can't ask for much more :)

Fast casual vegan restaurant with large portions of incredibly delicious asian influenced vegan food, friendly service and really low prices. It may be my favorite restaurant on Newbury Street, and I'm a committed carnivore. I had an enormous bowl of fresh spicy vegan ramen and a spindrift seltzer for $12. The miso broth was so rich and flavorful. Highly recommend this place for lunch.

I work in the neighborhood and have always been meaning to stop in here for lunch, and finally did today! Service was insanely quick and the spicy udon soup I got was 10/10 tasty. Not to mention, the gentleman serving me was so excited and delightful. My only regret was not stopping here earlier--definitelty new favorite spot for a quick lunch on Newbury Street!

Verdict: pretty delicious fast casual in a prime location fitting a niche of healthy / vegan food that isn't currently served in the Back Bay area.

1 star- ambiance. It was pretty empty when we went around 6pm on a Friday evening but the interior was well lit and cutely decorated with brightly painted wall murals and tatami-mat-style seats. The music was all acoustic Miyazaki film scores which was fun.
1 star- taste. Excellent tasting bowls with really fresh ingredients. I will say the look of some of the "sauces" aren't that appealing but they tasted great -- the monk curry and the spicy both added real zest and kick to the veggies we got, and the green beans, tofu, mushrooms, etc. of our veggie toppings were all fresh.
0.5 star- value. At $13 per bowl with really no real hefty protein (some tofu), the price is a bit steep...but you are on Newbury St. I suppose.
1 star- service. The guy behind the counter took the time to explain how the menu worked and otherwise, the staff were courteous and quick.
0.5 star- innovation. Japanese food isn't known for being super vegan-friendly -- even the most veggie-heavy dishes are often topped with tobiko or bonito flakes -- but I found the food here yummy and interesting enough. No flavor pairings that blew my mind, though.

I had a terrific lunch here during the check-in to check out Yelp event (a free bowl in exchange for checking in on Yelp!). The space is nice and light filled, with colorful, pleasant decor. The staff is super friendly and helpful, even though I came in the afternoon after what I suspect was a busy lunch rush. They explained the bowl breakdown superbly, and I am amazed by all of the vegan and super tasty offerings!

The bowls start with a base of white or red rice but both the much more (carrots, broccoli, black beans, quinoa, etc) than just rice. I got the red rice and loved it! Next is the green, and I got a mix of kale and spinach. Then for the five toppings, they are split between categories like antiaging (includes squash, mushrooms, and beet and strawberry blend), recovery (includes cauliflower, eggplant) and power (corn, red peppers). Finally there is a sauce on top, and I opted for the Monk Curry which is super flavorful with a great soy sauce punch. And I got sesame seeds on top for crunch.

Overall, my experience was stellar, and I will definitely be back. Besides the bowls, they also offer super smoothies and Japanese tea that I will have to try next time. My experience with the Humble Bowls is that the price is super reasonable for the location, food quality, and portion! So excited to discover this new vegan spot :)

Great food and just about the most amazing service you could possible get - the chefs/waiters were effusively cheerful and exceedingly polite. I opted for the udon curry bowl which at $10 in Back Bay, has to be considered a steal. Lots of rice bowls options too if you aren t feeling a broth for one reason or another.

Such amazing food! It's so much better than other bowl places (like Sweetgreen and Dig Inn) because it has actual hearty sauces, curries and wild rice with beans and veggies. I feel like I'm eating a real meal at Redwhite. The food is nourishing, hearty, warm and the staff is amazing. The music is soothing. I love this place and come back here anytime I'm in Back Bay!

Interesting and tasty Japanese bowls.
Start with red or white rice (both include other vegetables and beans as well as rice), add greens, add toppings (good amount of nicely prepared vegetables, tofu etc.), add sauces (creative and delicious), and finally sesame seeds or pumpkin and sunflower seeds.
The menu doesn't mention the greens but you can quite a lot and even replace some of the rice so the bowl becomes more like a salad if you like.
The rice and the sauces really make the bowls unlike other bowl or salad places.
Really helpful and friendly staff.
