Haven't been here in 10 years. Forgot how many runs they had. Pretty good snow this year and they have extensive snow making. No wait in lift lines on week days and never over 5 minutes Valentine's weekend.
Been going there for 40 years and love it. Small but we love it that way!
We spent Spring Break in Red River and had a good time. Lots of skiing/snow boarding with our family and eating out every night was nice. The food in the area was all good and we really liked Capo's. The only reason it was a three star is because some of the ski lift first aide team and personnel we...
Great place to ski and snowboard. Our family has had a blast here. Toddler did well with ski school. The town is also super amazing.
I'm very big about writing reviews on my experiences rather they are good or bad. Red River Ski Area is AMAZING! I'm in my mid thirties and have never been skiing. I hate the cold, I hate the snow and I especially hate falling down! My husband who is a big skier talked me into at least trying to lea...
This place is great, for a 1st time ski experience I can't think of anything I didn't have or anything I wish was better. I'd recommend for sure and I'll be coming back here.
The staff here is awesome. They went out of their way to help my young children. This was by far one of the best places we have been on vacation. It was not so crowded that you felt hurried all the time.
I am not a beginner snowboarder and therefore this is a ridiculous issue. The slopes getting off the lift are super short and steep causing boards to get caught if you take a second too long. I broke my bindings on the first run and the resort did nothing to help out, not even refund my ticket. Furt...
The rooms were clean and maintained. We really liked its location to the ski resort, the lift was right outside our window.
My aunt owns a Best western right next to the face of the slopes its awesome!!
Best ski town in the west! I learned to ski at Red River in the 80s & my children have learned at Red River too! Ski school is phenomenal & we've had several fantastic instructors over the years.
We love that the town is easy to get around & nothing is far from the lifts. Very family friendly!
Sum...
We love Red River - a great family resort with friendly hard working staff, great atmosphere, and wonderful landscape.
Love Red River Ski Area. This is our third year skiing here. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. There are tons of different slopes for everyone. Cute little town. We have such a great time. Will definitely go again!
All the lifts and trails are open! Lots of great snow, The Lift House is remodeled and open again, ski school is incredible and the people of Red River are still the nicest in the world!
I love this mountain and town. I've lived here 13 years and have skied every one in New Mexico, but none more than Red River. The town is awesome. We stay at the Best Western River Edge and that place rocks. You walk to the main lift from any room with ski boots on. That's slope side if you ask...
In the summer, be sure to take the kids on the Ranger Tour at the top. Ranger Tim was great, the kids had fun and learned some things. Tim even threw in a good amount of history to keep the parents happy. Thanks Tim, we really enjoyed it.
Family of five just participated in a Children's Mardi Gras parade and the Gator Plunge. Oh what fun!!!
Spent a week after Christmas 2015 and it was amazing. Kids had never skied and after a 1/2 day with RR instructor they were already on the Gold chairlift which was the perfect learning hill, both kids advanced up the hill throughout the week. They would also see their instructor on the "hill" and h...
It's a beautiful place where you can ski, rest, and eat
We paid for a hr on the big slide . The guys pushing us down not once put wax our started going slow . We asked if we could put wax but they said no .pure laziness . We went on the smaller one first and they put wax the smaller one way actually funner due to them being lazy you would think after a h...
The guys at the snowboarding park at Red River are awesome! Specifically Isaac! They were super friendly and even let me take a quick run right after the park closed before they were cleaning up for the day. I will definitely be back. Not crowded and we had great snow!
We have skied Red River several times. This trip was a bit different, as we placed our 3 year old in her very first ski lessons. We were a little worried she wouldn't enjoy it, however wound up loving it. We even extended her lessons to two hour sessions and requested (and received) the same ski ins...
One of the best ski towns around. You can definitely walk all over town to shop, eat, some condos offer door to ski lift just walk out the door and catch the lift. Tubing at night is a definite must, just make sure you get tickets 3 days ahead. We didn't and still go in the 2nd round, but if you ...

Red River is a prime ski area in New Mexico. Probably the most northern most in NM. Really fun mountain with a beer and food up top. The park has rails, boxes and jumps from beginner to pretty intermediate. Snow conditions change through out the day so that can vary. Overall great mountain and will...
Incredible! The staff is great and there has been hardley anyone on the slopes. Still open during covid. Everything is groomed nicely, the snow is dry and packed without ice. Lots of long trails for all levels. My kids took lessons and the instructors were outstanding. I am going back again tomor...
Had ski lessons today was told to be there at 8:30 and they had my 5 year old wait 45 minutes before she ever got to go out. Ridiculous
Northern New Mexico /Red River is a fun ski town with good food, a quiet peaceful atmosphere and a cool ski mountain where you can enjoy true NM adventure. This is where you come to get away from the crowds.
Love this place for skiing. This was my first skiing experience, and loved it!!
Great mountain to learn on, but offers some fun runs for advanced skiers as well.
So much fun! My family and I took the ski lift and went hiking and saw so many beautiful sites! This is for sure a must see and do when visiting Red River, you won't regret it! We came back a few days later to go tubing and man was that a blast!! My 6 year old loved it! And once she saw the ski lift...
Red River is an excellent place for both beginner and experienced skiers and snowboarders alike. The trails are great and the lift house is always a nice place to grab some chili.
Great place! Super friendly, loved the folks at the Best Western! Mountain Treasures and Anchovies Pizza were the places to eat! Real friendly locals! Only thing preventing me from giving Red River a five was my ski instructor. Great skier but real impatient with me. I asked how long he'd been...
My first time to ski here was GREAT! Friendly people, laid back atmosphere, & within walking distance to my motel! I loved it! Definitely will be back again!!
Best kept skiing secret since 1997. No place like it.
This is a very fun ski area in a nice little town with enough to do to have fun outside of skiing. As for the snow, the Silver Chair pod is a lot of fun and I have never found a crows back there. This resort has a great mix of groomed and ungroomed runs on the blue and black level that make the da...
First time skiing, Red River was awesome, food 2 1/2 stars, River Side Lodge & Cabins nice place for the price. Fudge Factory for sweets and rentals great price and don't bother going any where else. Mark turned us around on equipment and knowledge of the Red River.
The disc golf course is a great. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the course is challenging and enjoyable. It was my pleasure to play. Thanks
Hidden treasure aerial park is nice for kids, but a bit pricey for what it is. Appointment is 1.5 hours but half an hour is getting geared up. So $50 for an hour. Ropes course finishes with a zip line. The guide was very nice and stayed over his shift to get us through it. Photographs are availab...
This was a great place for our family to snow-ski for the first time! Great slopes, not too crowded, friendly staff and reasonably priced
Best kept skiing secret since 1997. No place like it.
We had a fantastic experience skiing and snowboarding this week! They are working very hard to keep everyone safe and follow covid guidelines. They had a smooth process and we can't wait to come back next month!
We purchased our tickets online a few days early. They had our lift passes ready for bo...
We came to the resort at about 5 on march 11 and we purchased a 3-4 day ski lift pass. We skied the first 2 days AFTER the 11th which were the 12th and 13th and we skipped the 14th, which gave us another day to ski on the 15th. When we got there on the 15th the lift administrator scanned our passes ...
Great place to go for all ages especially with kids. Their prices are the best for what they offer
The crew at Red River do a great job of dealing with very little natural snowfall. The skiing was wonderful despite mother nature.
So i went to RR for the first time on valentines day weekend, felt in love with the place. But i had an accident up high in the trails, and I lost my board. I try looking for it, but it was impossible to find it, and I was in a lot of pain. So as soon as I could i went to the Lost and found, ski pa...
Lack of signage and ski patrol presence for skier safety, also employees and management are very rude and have little care about the quality of your experience.
If you go to Red River and don't instantly fall in love with the town, we can't be friends.
Red River is the best! Purchased lift tickets the night before skiing and went to will-call in the parking lot where an employee greeted us and gave us an envelope that included our tickets, plastic connectors, receipt, and a trail map. The whole process took about 30 seconds. It was actually better...
Its always fun here in Red River. You can go tubing and try your hand at the ropes course. The Ski & Summer Area has plenty of thingsfor the family to do.
Red River is so much fun and very enjoyable! Ski lifts are safe and easy to use. Definitely go here today!!
Johnny was an awesome guide! Thank you for making our first time at Red River even more memorable!
Haven't been here in 10 years and I missed it. Great mountain for the whole family. Not crowded, organized lift lines, plenty of room to kick back and relax between runs in the lodge, and great cabin rentals accommodations from red river real estate!
We ALWAYS have an amazing time at RR. This trip we were fortunate enough to get 8" of fresh powder during our stay. Wonderful skiing on the mountain. We will be back again next month!
My husband and I took the lift up to check it out. The ride was just over an hour with a great view! Definatly worth doing!
These folks work harder than most to give you the greatest experience for the most reasonable price.
Charging full price for half days and no locker rentals. Dont open if your not going to make provisions for covid. However, you dont mind taking our money. I dont mind wearing a mask but, while skiing alone is beyond ridiculous. This was year 4 and now the last... Sad
I would advise everyone to make sure it s not going to rain that day or in our case a few sprinkles will close down everything. We spent almost $300 for sliding down one time and they weren t wanting to refund the money. They also told my kids that once they got to the top they would be taken down ...
Ski patrols, Fred and Walt, were fabulous this afternoon. They resued me after I fell and injured my knee on the slopes, rendering me partially immobile. These medics arrived quickly and were very knowledgeable! Their helpfulness will surely aid in my successful healing. Thank you again!
Great family vacation place. Had 3 generations. All had a blast.
its closer yet Taos is the place with the new lift in prossess
Terrible experience! Do not stay at the Ponderosa Lodge. Management is rude and unprofessional. Had to call paramedics because hot tub (which was recently repaired) emitted chlorine gas and we had to evacuate. My 10 year old daughter had reaction to chemicals. The desk clerk agreed their was a probl...
Truly a great mountain! Very diverse terrain for any level of skiier! My friends had a great time on gold rush hill learning to snowboard while me and some other friends were able to ski more advanced runs such as cat skinner. Great management and overall efficency. The one thing I would love to see...
What an amazing venue for a wedding! The affordability of this venue with all the amenities that were available to us to host over 100 people for an outdoor wedding, dinner and dancing helped to make a "perfect" wedding for our daughter. Karen Kelly was fantastic with her communication with every li...
I really enjoy coming here. I am not a very good skier. Im very cautious. Red river has slopes that are perfect for me and for the more experienced skiers. The town if fun. You can walk around and enjoy shopping and dinning!
I see the woman known as Riley always being rude and disrespectful to her staff and I am tired of it as a season pass holder it is ridiculous she argues with them over nothing it doesn't let them get a word in I followed her a couple of times now up different lips and have heard her being disrespect...
We didn't have much time to enjoy all of the activities there but the ones we did we're great! I would definitely go back here to have some more fun, both in winter and summer.
We love Red River - a great family resort with friendly hard working staff, great atmosphere, and wonderful landscape.
Great place not too big have a lot of fun and memories here
We bought the $77 Lift pass but not the skis. Turns out you can only go up and down the Lift with skis. Why would someone buy the lift but not the skis? Disappointed at the lack of information on the website and from personnel.
With all the numerous options out there to spend time with your family and friends skiing and enjoying what the mountains have to offer, I find myself coming back to Red River more and more. I grew up skiing and have always loved the sport. I have been to just about every resort in NM and CO, and I ...
Small friendly town and a great place for a beginner skier to learn to Ski!
Went there a couple times with friends back when I was a greenhorn skier many years ago. Loved the place. Great lodging and food there to! Hope to go back someday...
Nice ski area, but just beware that the kids that are running the lifts are in control of the place. I m sitting in line waiting to board the gold rush lift and they are playing music filled with profanity. You would think the owners would control this.
Dec'20 was the second time visiting Red river with our family. Our two boys, 6&7 spent a few days in Ski school and were taken up to the top of the mountain and down a mix of blue and green slopes with their instructor. They are now officially better than their parents!
The instructors are great,...
We had a great time skiing! Staff is very polite and accommodating! Wish there would have been real snow, but mother nature is in charge of that detail. Great town and ski conditions!
Love the trip to Redriver enjoyed the scenery an great atmosphere the mountains are beautiful this time of year looking forward to going again God's country it is beautiful an awesome
Was excited to come and ride the lift round trip like we did when I was younger. However after purchasing my lift pass I was told that they aren t letting people do that today. Was very disappointed with the waste of money
Always a great experience! Family friendly fun for the while family whether you want to ski or just take in the views, enjoy the atmosphere all over the mountain.
I love the place been going to RR for the past 4 years never a let down. the town is amazing could not ask for a better time!!!
The town is awesome and has always been but rented the chalet for a wedding reception OMG the service the lady Karen Kelly was horrible. Always going back on her word always trying to change things that were promised to us. We were promised access to a full kitchen... what we got was a dirty filth...
The best of skiing and snowboarding is in red river
