Well positioned near the New Forest. Large room, beautifully decorated. Would have liked a bath in the bathroom, but the shower was large and had good pressure. Staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. Breakfast was amazing with locally sourced produce and s good selection.

We went in August for a two night stay - hotel room lovely except for a couple of minor niggles (only one bedside light, a wall switch that kept falling off, and tea/coffee/biscuits facilities not replenished on second day). We opted to eat in the restaurant on our first night and it was nothing short of appalling! The service was rubbish, food inedible and wine stupidly expensive for a pub. Breakfast the next day was shocking!
Wouldn't bother again which is a shame as it was a beautiful pub/hotel in a stunning location.
Would love to have half an hour with the management as it really wouldn't take much to put right.

We had a slight issues with the quality of the bathroom in our room. The Inn was fully booked and it was quite late in the day when we raised concerns (as I wasn't feeling well) so I did expect some resistance from management. However, the manager, Colum, was so professional and sorted the issue quickly without any complaints and kindly put us in another room. His service was exemplary hence the 5 star.

Breakfast was great but my only compaint was that the server sat us at the table, asked if we wanted a hot drink but never returned. After 15 mins, I went up to another server to ask whether it was table service or not and she quickly sorted us out, took our order etc.

The room was as expected and the complimentary beer and wine was a nice touch.

This was the first time I've been to an Inn and I hadn't appreciated that a 5* Inn wasn't quite the same as a 5* hotel. We were told that the bathrooms were due to be done up this year too - once they are sorted, I wouldn't hesitate to come back!

Beautiful location on the edge of the new forest with classic thatched roof and cottage style: low roof and wooden beams. good, friendly service. nice menu, a little on the expensive side but very tasty. highly recommend the desserts - these are great value for money. ale on tap but more limited choice of lager and cider. parking on site available.

We stayed for three nights in October with our West Highland Terrier. All of us were made to feel incredibly welcome and the staff accommodated any requests we had. Tom in particular is a credit to the pub and was friendly and helpful.
The pub is very dog friendly - our dog had a lot of fun meeting the staff and locals Dog treats, water, and towels are all readily available.
We'd highly recommend it for anyone looking for a dog friendly hotel in the New Forest area.

Great food and amazing selection of beers to choose from. Polite staff. Also very nice to sit in the garden with a cider during the summer months.

I would have given 5 stars but sometimes the time it takes for food to arrive is longer then hoped. Makes popping for food in lunchtime tricky at times.

Table booked by my mother for a party of four for Saturday lunch. Phone lines were down after bad weather, but the staff responded straight away to email, and on arrival we were welcomed and shown straight to a table. The bar had a good selection of ale, lager and cider on tap at reasonable prices, plus others in bottles. The lunchtime menu, while not being overwhelmingly extensive, had a variety of locally inspired dishes that all sounded very tasty and looked great being delivered to neighbouring tables. We ordered, and didn't have to wait long for our food, which all tasted good. I had beer battered fish & chips, which was well cooked, with light crispy batter, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Desserts afterwards were of equally high standard, I settled on the apple & rhubarb crumble, receiving a generous portion accompanied by I ice-cream. All in, a very enjoyable lunch, at a very reasonable price, in lovely surroundings.

I was shocked how bad this is for a 5 star hotel! I understand that the temperatures here are normally not as high as now, but you can't expect to sleep in a room without air conditioning. When we asked for a room that DOES have air conditioning, they said we should draw our plan with a fan. This doesn't help at all. You also get only 1 fan per room while the upstairs rooms do not need it because it is so extremely cold there thanks to their air conditioning. This was just the beginning ... The cupboard is broken. The toilet is also broken. Bad shower. Wifi falls away. Totally not worth the money!

The pub is hidden from the main road and appears to be in a village. It is, but situated right next to the bypass and sitting outside is too noisy. Inside is reasonable but bland and stuffy as no windows were open. Food was expensive but was reasonably tasty. The price of a Peroni was a shock and I guess reflects the only pub in the village status.

Stayed for one night and had a very pleasant stay. Rooms were clash with good tea facilities. My room had a lovely walk in shower and very comfortable bed. Easy access to the room. There was a little noise when other people used the water, but nothing bothersome at all. The pub itself had good beers on tap and a nice atmosphere. All in all, very happy there.
