This shop had been recommended to me by many friends and rightfully so. Dave is incredibly knowledgeable and is super friendly. I have never had nothing but a great experience with him and his store. Great quality for great prices and always a lovely chat whenever I go past.

Dave was very helpful and took the time to advise me on the right kind of bike for my needs and budget. I ended up with a fixed-up used one, which was affordable and has been working great so far. I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend the Oxford Bicycle Company!

Very friendly store with good prices and the owner happy to discuss options and give advice. He helped me choose a bike and fit a basket, and a few weeks later I dropped in to adjust the seat and secure lock my tyres and he helped me free of charge. All around a great bicycle-purchasing experience.

Went in today desperate to buy an inner tube for our sons bike as the tire popped on our way to Oxford. We wanted to buy a new inner tube and borrow a tire lever so my husband could sort it. Very unhelpful wouldn't help us at all; because of a not lending tools policy. Had to walk with four children in tow to find somewhere else.

bought a bike here and found the gears hadn't been adjusted correctly, the tyre's weren't the right pressure and the brakes were also not adjusted correctly.

Absolutely outstanding service, took my very poorly bike in at 1200 and was ready by 1500! Very fair prices too - they don't rip you off like most bigger bike stores.

I came across this family run bike shop because it is just down the road from where I live, and it just is such a hidden gem! The owner is very knowledgeable about bikes and has always been very honest about giving advice to me, which is a rare and admirable quality in a salesperson. Quite unlike the experience I had with previous bikes bought from large scale retailer, the bike I bought from the Oxford Bicycle Company (a Probike racer) has been very reliable over time and has given me no problems beyond the obvious wear and tear and the odd puncture. My friend who also bought a bike there (and directed me there in the first place) also never had issues with his bike. I have recommended this shop to friends before and I strongly recommend it to anyone who would like a solid, reliable bike and warm, friendly service!

The owner seemed nice enough and had very friendly banter, orienting us to cycling in Oxford. He sold me an old Gazelle for 100 pounds, which I have since learned was an inflated price. Also, within two weeks of the purchase of my refurbished bike, the gears needed attention. I took it to him and he told me these type of gears, when they start to go they cannot be repaired. I took my bike to the Cycleanalyst down the street and they fixed my gears and adjusted my seat in 20 minutes. He is a one man operation and I believe this led to his reluctance to look at my gears.

Loved the treatment, great prices on everything. The bike got set up in 10 minutes. While I was waiting, three people came in and were given the same great treatment.

Went in several times for a chat and an information-gather before buying my new bike. Dave was always helpful, never minded talking. Eventually got round to buying a new bike (after lots of advice) a few months ago which has revolutionised my riding - I'd been riding the wrong size for years. Incredibly helpful, really listens to you, knows his stuff. Really happy with my new bike and would not hesitate to go back or recommend to a friend.

By far the best bike shop in Oxford, in my opinion! Dave is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and very honest with customers. When I take my bike in for repairs, he always gives his straightforward opinion on what needs to be done to get it in good working order again. Importantly, he doesn't try to 'up-sell' like other shops: If there are various options at different price points, he'll take he time to explain the pros and cons of each and let you make a decision.

We've been using this bike shop since it opened and are very happy with Dave's honest and helpful service. He's even showed me how to do simple stuff for free. I think we've used every bike shop on Cowley Road and most in town and this is the best.

Fabulous 10 minutes speedy puncture repair. Cheap and cheerful!

Prices seem fair, however be careful to not buy a heavily worn bike, check for signs of rust and particular the gear sets as that is where I have had problems. Better to buy the new ones I imagine, rather than gambling on a worn mess like I did.

This is a friendly company, staffed by lovely people who will give you advice, information and clarification on bike matters! Buy a bike from this company and you'll get a free service after a month. The bikes they have on offer are excellent, and they'll recommend a bike based on your needs. The bike I bought runs like a dream, and I've got good advice on caring for it.

I would like me to thank Dave very much for his kindness for fixing my bike on the spot just after I had been hit by another cyclist and been thrown off in front of his shop. I was shaken and upset and he helped me on my way. I will definitely use Oxford Bicycle Company in the future.

I would thoroughly recommend Dave and the Oxford Bicycle Company. I was looking for a new bike to replace my old one for commuting and Dave was very knowledgeable and took a lot of time and care in advising me about different types of bikes within my budget. I purchased my bike through a Cycle-To-Work scheme and Dave was great in dealing with my company and I was thoroughly impressed with the service he gave. I even took the bike back for a service and he was very helpful and made necessary adjustments for free. I will definitely continue booking my bike in with Dave for regular servicing and I would thoroughly recommend him.

Fantastic customer service. Really listened to what we wanted and didn't try to convince us of anything we didn't want or need. Very accomadating and didn't rush us when making a decision. Definitely worth the extra few minutes walk past the other bike shops.

I brought my 2yo bike to run a basic service checkup. The chain was out of the gear and also needed some oiling. As long as the owner found out that the bike was bought from one of his local competitors, he started criticizing it saying it was not a bike of good quality. He run the service in 2h, just oiling the chain.
The bike got broken after a week.

The best cycle shop on Cowley road for repairs/work on your bike. Very knowledgeable owner who is always happy to discuss your bike with you and give you his honest opinion. Never tries to rip you off or charge you for anything more than you actually need.

Dave is the most reliable, honest and genuine person i have ever had to deal with. he will advise you on what require doing on your bike , he also does his best to save customer money, he wouldn't let you change this any how. i remember so well i , went to him to get my crank-set on my road bike done but after he has checked , he advise me that there is nothing wrong with it and that it can take me through the rest of the season. till date i still have that crank-set going . i will strongly recommend him to anyone that have issues with bikes to contact Oxford bike company

An accomplished bike mechanic who delivers a quality service without cutting corners. I felt it was value for money and didn't feel fleeced.

I got a puncture on the Cowley Road when cycling to a training course. I had a moment of panic and turned around to walk home (Botley). As I turned, the Oxford Bicycle Company was facing me - I genuinely felt someone was looking down on me! Not only that but they were open (at 8am unlike the other cycle shops) and able to fix my puncture within 10 minutes - that's what I call service! What could have been a really bad day was hardly interrupted! Thank you so much and I have no hesitation in recommending this business.

Dropped in with a minor problem while cycling past and the guys at The Oxford Bicycle Company were extremely kind and helpful, fixed the issue in 30 seconds and didn't charge me for anything. I'd definitely go back with any problems in future !

I used their general service which was pretty solid except they overlooked a couple of problems I had forgotten to mention. I came back to enquire and had one of them done within the original service charge. They deliver what they said they will do but the shop needs to close immediately at the closing times as they have the uni job after so it would be best not to ask for a rush job after an hour before the end of their business hours.
I have recommended the shop to a friend and she seems to be very happy with the services.

I bought a bike around 8 months ago and the rear wheel started making horrible noises (manufacturing faults). I rang up The Oxford Bicycle Company and he told me to come and and they would sort it out. Around 2 weeks later I went into the shop to get my bike fixed, turns out they had already ordered in the replacement wheel and my bike was fixed within an hour. Fantastic service, many thanks

One of the nicest shopkeepers I've ever come across - incredibly friendly, genuine and willing to help.

I bought my bike a while back and it has done me well ever since. I went to get my back brakes fixed as I'd worn down the brake pads. He didn't have the higher quality ones in stock so replaced them for free and gave the whole bike a once-over. Very happy customer.

Dave, the lone warrior mechanic, never tires off his work to provide bikes of quality (at all price ranges) with customer service that can't be topped.

Always willing to help with enquiries, gives an honest view of his business Vs others, will remember your face and purchase, which is great if you lose a receipt or want to pick up on a purchase offer you skipped out on initially.

Can't recommend this guy and his business enough. He is 100% trustworthy and 110% proficient at his work.

This is by far the best bicycle shop experience that have had in Oxford. Dave genuinely cares for his customers and is honest in his business dealings. He talked me through the individual problems of the bike and the approximate costs which were extremely fair and affordable. My bicycle was in a sorry state when I brought it to Dave and it has now been given a whole new lease of life which demonstrates his skill and knowledge about bikes.

As a regular commuter I warmly recommend this place to get your bike serviced/fixed.
Unlike many bike shops in Oxford, he is in the business of restoring bikes so is keen to fix your problems rather than sell you a whole new bike.

The service is always so friendly and helpful here! He's fixed my bike for really good value before, and very efficiently. A screw had fallen out this morning and I wasn't even charged for the fix! I would definitely recommend!

What a great shop, we had been looking for a bicycle for my wife. It appears that the whole of Oxford have sold out of them. Dave, the owner, helped my wife with the choice of bike, he was amazing. Even gave directions to a great pub for lunch while he det the bike up for her. I couldn't recommend Oxford Bicycles any hire. Keep the independent retailers going.

I bought a bike here about a year ago on their recommendation of make and model and have been absolutely thrilled with it: perfect for my needs, great quality and dependable. Had a bolt holding up the pannier rack fall off and the rack wore a hole in the gear cable tube. Brought it in today, over a year after buying the bike and they replaced the bolt and tube and tuned the gears for free. Totally impressed with the service and commitment to support. I would not buy a bicycle or service one anywhere else in Oxford.

Dave knows everything there is to know about bikes and he's totally honest. He never seems to charge you enough money for all the hard work he puts in. It feels like a new bike every time he services it!
