This place is pretty good, it has a great patio in the back and nice small plates for happy hour. Good place to go in transition between two bars. Nice liquor selection, especially whiskeys.

I truly love this place! Been coming here since I moved into the Alphabet district. Born & raised in this town and North 45 is keeping it real! All are welcome, and drinks only end at closing time.

Great happy hour! Food and drinks are a great price during normal hours as well. Perfect for date night, girls night or to watch the timbers game! Service is always amazing! Highly recommend.

The outdoor tent is brilliant, the indoor decor is just our style. Great drinks and above and beyond staff - on only our second trip, they remembered our drinks!

Very comfortable place to hangout. We stopped for a beer and a snack. Outdoor space in back was comfortable and relaxing. Calamari made the perfect midafternoon break.

This was a very fun bar to go into. I wasn't too fond of the crowd it drew the times we went, but if you can find a place to sit with friends, North 45 Pub is a good place to stop in.

Great food and beer selection. Walls covered with soccer jerseys create a create vibe. Service very friendly.

Super chill place, excellent back patio. Cozy in the winter, chill in the summer, not a bad spot to hang in NW Portland. Food's a bit pricey and just OK, but if your there just to drink, you're in for a good time!

Pretty good, I think they should stir the Manhattan a little more but that's nitpicking

Here's what to expect:

1> Watery 4 oz. drinks with a trace of liquor -- $6 and up.
2> Mediocre food (such as the $12 hamburger and fries).
3> Service so bad, you'll be getting up to grab whatever you need.
4> A self-ingratiating %20 service charge for parties > 4 people.

WCS: If your friends insist on going to this place, eat beforehand and bring a flask.

More than meets the eye! It looks small from outside but has a spacious outdoor patio in the back. Beer selection is eclectic and did not suit my taste. No pbr or similar option. Excellent bar though. Food is very good especially their mussels offered in different styles of delicious broth with toasted bread. Crowd is on the well dressed young professional side like Rontoms but not as obnoxious as the pearl. Definitely better in summer with outdoor seating. Not a dive. Awesome mussels. Plenty of whiskey.

Perfect back patio! Great for a Timbers game. The wings and some of the pork dishes are from the smoker and amazing, everything else is ok.

Good happy hour menu. Their heated outdoor patio is a great spot for outdoor-ish drinking all year long.

Cool atmosphere and amazing list of Moscow mule variations. Often crowded.

They have street seating with heaters as well as a large heated tent seating in back with TV. Mostly about the drinks here, very limited food offerings, but the green beans, fries and cesar salad were super good. The bruschetta bread More

My first time at this pub was a World Cup viewing party. The service was great. The food was good too.

Intimate setting with a great drink list and better than average food. If you don't like seafood though beware of the smell. Outdoor patio and bar are excellent for warm weather group Hangouts.

Remember to tip your bartender Allegra with extra zanex so she doesn't go too crazy...

I often catch myself peering back into time, heaping nostalgia on the fire of my soul, picturing this bar. It is the place I met my beautiful wife, Ashland. I remember her laugh, her smile, and suddenly I'm floating; and back at North 45: a bar for lovers.

Went there for first time. My drink was awful. Took one sip. Sent it back. Still had to pay for it. We waited 30 minutes to get first drink and order, even though we were the Second group there, bartender was to busy flirting and looking in the mirror to help us. Then we ate for 30 min. Waited an hour for check. Then could have walked out bc she never paid ANY attention to us. Then paid 60 even though we hardly touched anything. Terrible Service. Would not recommend until new bartender comes along.

I love their outdoor seating. Its in the back so it feels cozy and away from the busy street. Good food. Mussels are tasty. Friendly staff.

By far the best outdoor patio bar in Portland. Awesome customer service.

They've got a few tables on 21st, but head towards the back of the bar and you'll find their expansive back patio (with its own bar). Great beer selection and friendly staff.

Trendy and fairly popular gastro pub in the heart of NW. They've got a nice selection of whiskey and less standard liquors. Cocktails are well balanced and pack a punch without being too boozy. The prices are reflective of the quality of food and the area. The patio is a bit of a diamond in the rough and is large enough that you're rarely hard pressed to find a table. Not dog friendly.

I went here with a friend for a Timbers watch party and loved it. Kinda small but worth coming here.

Hands down the most consistently delicious restaurant in PDX. It will remain in my top 10 Portland restaurants

Their beer list, drink menu, and back patio are impressive! A great place to grab a Belgian beer or Moscow Mule and sip it on the back patio on a warm summer night. They also have a great TV set up back there for sports.

Delicious large mussel dishes, good beer, hamburger looked marvelous. Be sure to try the ketchup!

Don't love all the beers they have on tap, but the food is good. Especially the mussels!

Belgian beers (Delirium!) are available but pricey. Great mussels and solid happy hour. Take your "Choose Local" card and enjoy happy hour all day!

Fantastic burger and Mac! Service was speedy and it was the perfect date night.

We found North 45 thanks to the Portland monthly a few years ago and it s now one of our favorite little secrets.
The outdoor space is great in the summer, nice and shaded and a chill vibe. I took 6 girlfriends there last night for a friends bday dinner and they really went above and beyond to make it special.

I love everything about this place - outside area is awesome and good selection of drinks - except the menu. It is too high-brow and expensive.

Excellent service, great ambiance, and the patio stayed fairly warm for a cool fall night

Pros: great all-weather patio and a few good beers. the various mussel options are good.

Con: Pricey, can fill up fast, VERY close tables indoors, the avo toast is not good, and the staff are a bit brusque.

Classy Belgium vibe, pretty good cocktails, and friendly staff. Summers the back patio is Koren for additional room. Wouldn't be a bad place for a date, except it gets noisy during peak hours

I always come here since it was an early date spot for my wife and I when we first started seeing each other. Good scotch and whiskey selection, though you can't really go by their list. They really should update it. But they had some Macallan Rare @ $39 so I can't complain too much. I recommend ordering water or ice back since they go to town with the ice if you order on the rocks. Even if you order with one cube you get a bunch. Good beer selections as well. Gets crowded in the evenings, especially if the patio is closed.

Nice patio and wait staff. The sliders were so-so and mac & cheese tasteless. I ordered a bottle of pear cider and discovered when the bill came it was $9.50 for the bottle (less than 16oz). When I tried to call to confirm I was charged correctly they hung up the phone twice on me...I feel ripped off and certainly will NEVER go back!

We've been going here for years. Not into the night scene, but a great patio out back on a sunny day. The beer selection is okay, but not great... very limited to Belgian beers. The food is very good, especially the mussels. And, they do some nice salads in the summer using seasonal heirloom tomatoes, etc. Also, their burger is outstanding.

A favorite of mine before Timbers home matches. The back patio seems like it's more of a secret than it should be.

Cool little pub with a good foreign beer selection. The food is pretty typical pub food but the staff has always been really cool to me. Pretty decent drinks. Their patio is really hit or miss when it's open but worth it.

Definitely wiill hit this place up again - We happened to be in there while a Rice Wine tasting that was going on and got to participate in a taste test. Great sliders (burgers) too ;)

Good heated seating in back, and private with quiet area.

We had drinks at the outside patio, great setting and the service was good. Went before a thorns game. Would come back!

What a great location with a very trendy patio. I'd love to tell you about the food and drinks. Unfortunately after sitting at a table on the patio for 30 minutes without being acknowledged by the staff, we decided to pop next door instead.
The Dark Horse pub on the otherhand had fantastic service, wonderful food and tasty cocktails.
Won't be recommending North 45

Pros:
Huge outdoor patio out back so is fun especially in the summer. Massive selection of imported Belgian Beers. Convenient to other bars/ restaurants on 23rd (so a good bar hop stop). Good happy hour.

Cons:
Service can be slow. Why no Belgian Beers on tap?

A fun bar if you're in the neighborhood, gets crazy busy at the weekend that creates a fun party atmosphere.

Only enjoyed their beers and cocktails, but looking forward to the moules frittes soon!

Waited 40 minutes for food and nothing came out. We saw 1 slider make it to the front dining room in that time. I could see cooks repeatedly rereading tickets, seemed to be confused. After 2 beers we canceled order and left, after bartender said it would be a while.

This is a place for people who like good beer. Go on Thursday nights when they have a guest brewer on site.

Fun restaurant, love the back patio with the huge TV. Great good, love the French dip. Friendly helpful staff.

Fantastic selection of spirits and beers, and incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff

They have a great back porch. My wife got the London Thyme and we shared dirty fries which is poutine and it was very good. One of the best patios in portland and it is heated in winter and protected from rain the rest of the year. You just need to head past the little front part of the bar to get there.

North 45 is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. They have great Belgian beers, a good wine selection. And the mussels are top notch. They are always delicious, large and I can't seem to get enough of them. They also have really good salads, and of course fries, because he just can't have mussels without the fries (they're so good they won't last long). The space appears small, but there's also a very large outdoor patio in the back check it out I highly recommend North 45.

One of the best patios and coolest bars in Portland!

Nice patio, but food service ended at 8:00 or 8:30 on a Friday night, and last call for drinks was 9:30 or 10:00. We were actually kicked off the patio shortly after last call by very pushy waiters and not allowed to finish our drinks. Definitely won't be returning due to poor/rude service.
