I've had a mixed experience with MUSC. Some of the staff were great and provided excellent care. However, I encountered a few issues during my visit that could have been handled better. Overall, it was an average experience.

Got an appointment easily. Saw Dr. Robert Gathings and he assured me what he prescribed would help and it did wonderfully!!! Even got me some cheaper prescription options instead of perscribing the most expensive one. Felt like he care and was a good overall experience

Horrible customer service. This Information that I received is very vague. No other dermatology center in the area requires a referral. I ask why and she had no answer for me.

I am not one to leave negative reviews. If I have a bad experience I simply just don t return, but when it comes to your health and well being I feel I need to warn others to stay far away from this place. I went here twice about a spot on my forehead and was told continuously it wasn t anything to worry about, however the dr said I have no idea what that is but I don t think it s a concern. She even suggested it may be dandruff (what?). I was instructed to come back in a year if it was still bothering me. Something didn t sit right with me and I REQUESTED to have a biopsy. Two weeks passed and I still hadn t heard of my results so I called to have someone say no one called you!? in a concerned and shocked sounding way which immediately made me feel like the news wasn t good. Another 2 days passed and I still haven t had my call returned. I called multiple times trying to find out my results. The dr finally called me from her personal cell phone after hours because no one from the actual office called me to let me know that I did in fact HAVE SKIN CANCER and needed surgery. I did have surgery by Dr. Cook who was my only good experience with a dr in the facility. I have had one follow up and no one has bothered to call to make sure I should be having routine follow ups. I was always the one to call to make sure I was being seen. I m sorry, but you would think if a patient had an existing history of skin cancer they would want this patient to come back for routine visits. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from this facility. I m so lucky this wasn t life threatening skin cancer, because honestly I m not even sure I would be here if it was. I will never come back to this place and urge you to not come here unless you want to be your own advocate and fight for your health, because this facility doesn t not care about you.

While I liked the resident, I should have been notified that I would be seeing one and then the attending. That is not the problem. Almost 3 weeks later, a prescription that I have requested has not been refilled. Unacceptable!

Dr. Hilton was very kind and professional! Even though I missed her call back a few times , she was very patient and made sure I knew the results of my tests. It would be great to have all doctors be like her.
