Management is terrible and enabled Christina Wilkinson of Garden Oaks apartments in Menlo Park Fame. Here is an example. Christina would call me quite often while I was on lunch for non-emergencies. I stopped answering her calls during my lunch. So she got me written up and HR came and gave me a write-up. HR stated that they did not want to hear my side of the story. That is how they operate, Just shut up and dribble

Been there for ten years, and one day I found a no cause eviction notice posted to my front door. I asked the building manager about renting a 2-bedroom, so they agreed to rent me a 2-bedroom, and I gave them a $1500 deposit, but never heard back from them. A few weeks later the $1500 deposit was left in an envelope on my front door with a $150/mo rent increase. And that was Sept-Oct 2016. On May 26, 2017 they issued another no cause eviction notice. I have been in the building 10 years, and have never been late on my rent even once. My place is squeakly clean, and the carpet is in new condition. My observation of this company is that if someone offers them one dollar more than you are paying, they will evict. They won't even discuss. I recommend avoiding this place at all cost. I wouldn't even live in this place if it was free.

The building looks cool because it is an old warehouse from the 1940s. Living in it is difficult for the following reasons:
1. No elevator it broke and they decided it was too expensive to repair.
2. Lots of stairs to get to your 2nd floor apartment. No air-conditioning and bad airflow through the lofts. Summer is torture on the top floor.
3. Cheap carpet. The carpets were replaced just before I moved in and in both the bedrooms they are full of wrinkles and waves. This is from buying and installing cheap carpet.
4. Everything the building manager installs from the towel racks to the faucets are the cheapest quality and only last for two years even with careful use.
5. The plumbing is really old and we have had to have our water and sewage stopped for many days and weeks at a time due to old bad pipes and the people below us are flooded with problems.
6. Unsafe old wooden stairs and walkway that are dilapidated, have peeling paint, plus major dry rot in the support beams that have the metal railings attached. Also they have not taken action to repair this since I brought it to their attention over a year ago.
7. The walls are very thin between apartments. This is fine if you have respectful neighbors but if not it is very difficult to sleep.
8. The parking area is open to the street and so are all the apartment doors. Anyone can walk in and take packages on doorsteps or leave their trash around your house.
9. There is no trash chute you have to carry your trash all the way down the stairs to the dumpster and it is far. Also people come and dump their old mattresses and items into our dumpster area since it is not hidden from the street or locked.
10. They have started charging for water and trash at the apartment which was included when I first moved in.
