The parking situation at Moonrise Hotel in St Louis was a bit tricky. While there is a large lot behind the property, I was required to move my car to a separate building after check-in, which came as an unexpected cost. Despite that hiccup, the hotel itself, its prime location, the rooms, and the bar are all excellent. It did feel a little strange that the bar crowd seemed like an exclusive club rather than fellow guests, but that vibe fits the venue's character.

Despite the service hiccups and parking situation, I would recommend the Moonrise for its unique character and great location.

No desk or table meant I had to balance my laptop on an ironing board next to the single chair to get any work done. To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi went down for a good chunk of my stay, and the elevators were unreliable, often out of service. The pool area also felt dated, with missing tile trim that gave it a worn-out look. The "beach towels" provided were surprisingly small, feeling more like hand towels than actual pool towels. Given these issues, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. If you’re looking for a hassle-free trip in St. Louis, Moonrise might not be the right fit for you.
