Great food and decent prices. We had the BBQ chicken melt and the Philly cheese steak. Only complaint was the BBQ had too much sauce. Service was good but a bit slow.

Been going here since I was a teenager. If you love cheesy pizza, this is the place. Fun atmosphere, great Italian fries with cheese. I don't live in Wausau anymore, but when I come to town I crave those Italian fries.

I have heard the burgers here are really good so I wanted to try it. My burger was amazing, my favorite burger place may now be 2nd. Typical sides fries, sweet potato fries etc - they are frozen & not homemade. This is where this place ranks second.

Popular spot for lunch. Food is good. The history and ambiance makes it a special place to go.

Food was very good every time we've tried it. Always takes a while to get it though so don't be in a hurry. Recommend the pizza and Virgil burger

Our server should really learn the menu. My husband ordered The Burro which can be ordered with your choice of chicken, beef, OR refried beans. He chose refried beans and the server tried to insist that it had to have meat in it. My husband said it was very bland and the frozen burritos he buys in the store have more flavor. He's right, I tasted it.
I was never asked if I wanted another glass of beer. I'm pretty sure the sauce for my Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo came from a can as it was very bland. My shrimp were overcooked.
Our server's overall demeanor was less than enthusiastic. Almost seemed like she couldn't wait for us to be done. You don't reach across the table to grab the customers empty dishes, you ask if you can take their dishes. Very disappointed. Won't come here for anything other than pizza ever again! Won't recommend Wausau Mine to anyone either.

Excellent atmosphere, food, drinks, and staff. We haven't been here for more than 15 years and were very impressed with the changes! Had the saurkraut and sausage pizza with pineapple! Would have this again!

Fun themed restaurant! Very nicely done theme with the inside looking like a mine - a little dark at first when you enter from daylight. You can see the attention to detail when your eyes adjust. The food we ordered was very good!

The decor is absolutely fantastic! Step inside the gold mine for some great food and drinks. The burgers are 1/2# monsters with delicious toppings that include a variety of wisconsin cheeses. Other menu choices include pizza, pasta and steaks.

I frequent Mine Co a lot. Their Italian fries are amazing. Humongous portions, though. Would strongly recommend splitting an entree. Pricing is pretty good considering how much food you get, and the quality is there also.

very overpriced for the watered down quality of food! no flavor at all in the au ju and salad dressing very watery. spent $82 for 1 BLT- 2 hamburgers- 2 steaks just to spend the rest of the night in the bathroom and on the couch feeling sick. This was the worse birthday dinner ever!!

The atmosphere is cute. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The drinks were mostly okay. The food was well prepared but nothing special.

We went here with about 20 people after a hockey tournament based on a local recommendation. Burgers, steaks, beers, and staff were great. What a cool interesting place.

I've always enjoyed their pizza. This is usually a lots of cheese type pizza! Of course the atmosphere is unique. If you are visiting to the area it is worth going there for that. Say hi to Virgil if you drop in.

From everything I read this was the place we had to go and eat. Ooops. Loved the decor and atmosphere the minute we were sat at our table. Unfortunately that's when the atmosphere couldn't over rate the service, the food, or the inattentiveness that we received. When placing our order I had a few simpke questions that were answered, but with an attitude. Our food arrived and it was cold and rather unappealing. I was tempted to send it back. Given how long we waited I was fearful just how long we'd have to wait again. Great to experience the place and go somewhete else to eat!

Was not very busy at the time. Was seated and waited 5 minutes till we asked when someone would help us, then waitress came. She brought food, was not very friendly. Only came and asked my husband if he wanted more water, then brought bill and said, no rush. Not the first time service has been bad there. Not sure we will ever return.

The first thing you notice when pulling up to the place is how bizarre it looks from the outside. The decor inside was perfect. It's crazy dark when you first step in from outside, but your eyes adjust pretty quick.

The food had great flavor and was cooked perfectly. My only complaint is the ridiculous amount of cheese! Got the cheese nuggets. They are just small loaves of bread cut in half and covered with with gobs of cheese.
We also got a pizza. There was so much cheese that you couldn't even taste the topping.
None of this would stop me from going back, but next time I will definitely be asking for less cheese on everything.

Great place overall. Pretty normal pricing for wausau. Everyone enjoyed the food. Cute decor for kids.

I've been going to Wausau Mine since I was a kid. Although I've moved out of state, this is on my short list to stop in when I'm in town. The theme and atmosphere are fun. What you want to order are Italian Fries with cheese (and extra sauce). They are worth the drive. Great memories here- thanks!

Really neat place. I had there "you can't eat all this" burger. Two supposedly 1/2 pound "beef?" Patties. It looked appealing, but the meat had no taste. Not even seasoning.
