Unless your adolescent is in dire need, I would recommend to explore other facilities and do not take here. I waited until my 16-year old daughter was discharged prior to writing this review to get her experiences. My daughter s high school directed me to this facility, so I trusted their suggestions. Out of the gate, we had an appointment, but yet was in the office from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM. We wanted to utilize the outpatient services, but was told by the intake coordinator that those services are not offered unless we go through the inpatient services. I was also told they had other medical services (PT), which they didn t. Also, was told I can pull her out whenever I liked, which is also not true. She was in the same clothes for two days and hadn t showered. She was embarrassed because she felt she smelled. She spent hours in front of the tv; sometimes watching movies on repeat. Being a caged animal with no rights made my daughter feel like she was losing her mind. She contemplated escaping, but thankfully I was able to pull her out even though against the medical advice of this facility their statement.

Not all staff is bad - positive experience with nurse Madison, director Ryan and Jennifer.

Our issue was my daughter s depression medicine was just adjusted after having a major surgery and experiencing a breakup causing suicidal thoughts. She did not try to harm herself. I understand these types of psych wards are for the extreme, so I was upset that they pushed she be admitted and that I was told they had a physical therapist. They seemed to care less that her knee needed treatment - elevated, iced and physical therapy. I think that s the only reason they let me pull her out at 48 hours and not the normal 8-10 days they recommend. I think if I kept her in, she would have been discharged with severe case of anxiety and trauma. Bottom line - what works for some, doesn t work for all.

This staff works around the clock, with little to no time off, to care for their patients. No matter what task is at hand, they go above and beyond to help people get back on their feet. I would 10/10 recommend Mesa Springs - Fort Worth to anyone who is looking for a reputable, trustworthy staff to care for you, a family member or a friend. These are good people who truly do good work in our community.

Wish I could enter a zero star review. Family member admitted for help managing extreme anxiety that began effecting their sleep and mental state. The entire stay they spoke briefly with THEIR doctor once, and didn't get any one on one time with their counselor. When the counselor was asked about it the answer was (cliff notes), "if we get to it we get to it". Based on those two facts they elected to discharge AMA, in which case it is discovered they LOST their home meds. I strongly suspect this was a tactic designed to provoke an angry episode so they could put them on a hold and milk the insurance coverage for money however, we were more composed than that.

Moreover, the environment on the units is best described as "controlled chaos" 24 hours a day. I dont know how anyone could make any progress there. Anxiety levels spiked purely from being there. The environment was traumatic in and of itself.

As another reviewer termed it, this place is a "money mill" for mental healthcare. I don't see how anyone working there who knows what is actually taking place on the balance sheets vs their "assembly line medicine" approach to mental health can sleep at night.

Last night I left huguley on good terms yet against medical advice and there was miscommunication on their end so they sent a police dispatcher. He called Mesa to see if I was still "banned" from their establishment and sure enough I was for misbehavior and foul language. That was close to six years ago. People change. Mesa springs is a money mill for the mentally ill. Save your insurance days and go elsewhere!

If you have good insurance save your time and money. Get your self a good private psychologist. Appointment booking seems to be pointless. You re there minutes before said appointment only to wait 3 hours to be seen. Shameful and definite anxiety trigger. I wish I could say great things about this place as it is a beautiful building. What a shame :(

This place is terrible! Everything that is wrong with mental health care..is this place! Inpatient is like a prison. Its loud and there is no peace. Then all you do is wait and wait just to see a dr that is only there to check boxes on a list. Such a waste of time and money in a moment that you are desperate for real help. This place is not it. Oh..and the lost our prescriptions! On a Friday evening...with no way to get a refill! And wouldn't even help with that!

Recently took my son here for evaluation in September. He was in desperate and dire need of help. He suffered frequent suicidal thoughts and lacked motivation to even get out of bed. He told me he just didn t want to live anymore. I took him here in hopes of getting him the help he really needed. First of all, he tells me the first thing he saw upon walking in the room, was a sign discussing payments, which quickly made him deter from getting the help he so desperately needed because he didn t want to cause financial burden and said that he would feel guilty. Second of all, if they weren t straight forward enough about just wanting your money, they went as far as to beginning to discuss WITH MY SON how to get into contact with someone about rates?? Not to mention their rates are absolutely outrageous, not that I wanted to even discuss that with my son PERIOD because I did not want him to believe his mental health and well being was amounted to nothing more than a bill to pay... unlike the professionals within this facility. Third of all, if you want your loved one to receive help they really need, I wholeheartedly do not recommend this place. Took him somewhere else immediately. After taking him to Mesa, he was so hesitant to even go somewhere else because of what they had made him feel, feeling guilty, a financial burden, and that his mental health amounted to a bill. Thankfully, I was able to get him treatment elsewhere and he was far more comfortable and felt welcomed as a loved human being whose mental health held more value than a bill. DO NOT RECOMMEND MESA SPRINGS.

I hated this place!! All of the staff in Sunrise unit were bossy. We weren't even allowed to talk in the hallway or hug or anything like that. I was trying to practice contortion skills and a staff member yelled " Stop doing that "!!! I hope I never have to go back. Don't go there.
