I love going to zoos and this is a great one. They had a few things under construction when we visited but that being said there was still an entire day spent looking at animals I have 4 kids and they had a blast. I drove from jackson mississippi at 4 AM and would do it again in a heartbeat. I would avoid the food court there though as it is very pricey and the staff is rude.

Very underrated zoo--one of the best in the country. Great variety of animals and habitats and splash fountain and wading pool for kids. Plan to spend all day to see everything--if you're local, the annual pass is absolutely worth it so you don't feel like you have to see everything in one visit.

Great fun! Been going since I was a kid and it keeps getting better. If you need a good cool off head toward the polar bears. It's refreshing and right next to it is the seal show and the Grizzly bears. Best part of the zoo, is if you have a TN license you get in free on Tuesday starting around 2:30pm. So go and enjoy everything from Giraffes to Turtle to Red Pandas.

It's very family friendly, with a wide variety of animals. Very clean and well maintained. It's always difficult to rate a zoo because realistically the enclosures are miles smaller than what their natural habitat would be. However, as a zoo, it is educational and clean and is as accommodating as it can be for both families and animals. I haven't posted many pictures because you should go and see it for yourself! It's a worthwhile experience.

I have visited a few zoos across different countries and this is by far the best. The zoo is well laid out and the Egyptian theme runs through it. I was very excited to see a Grizzly, polar and panda bears in a single zoo. The animals look very healthy and active. The gift shops are brimming with various different items. It is a great place for a family day out.

It's so refreshing to walk around and learn about the wildlife from around the world. And, what better place to go than the Memphis Zoo. Of course, almost any local zoo would have its own theme, and special animals from other countries. But, Memphis is unique because of its own rich history.
The staff is helpful, and knowledgeable of the species. As busy of a day it can be, they still have a smile on their face. Unless one misses a specific event, or animal before they leave, hardly anyone leaves unhappy.

This is literally the best zoo I know of, they take really good care of the facilities and they love the animals. They are literally the Hidden gem of Memphis. Favorite exhibit is Pandas, Hippos, and Polar Bears... Teton Trek with the the Grizzlies is pretty awesome as well.

My family and I just love the zoo. The animals are well taken care of and the staff is pleasant. The rides for the kids are so cute and the mist fans that are placed all around the zoo are so helpful and cooling. The gift shop is so cute. The cafe could have to go boxes and prices are a little high but i still give the zoo 5 stars. I love the membership prices they are perfect.

The set up of this zoo is amazing. I loved how the animals were portrayed and my most favorite was the display of information about the animals and what the zoo does for them. Easy to go through with about 4 hours of things to do. More if you look around. Will definitely be visiting again in the future.

This zoo is absolutely beautiful. The animals are well taken care of. The whole park is very clean. They do a wonderful job of educating people about the various animals. My favorite exhibit was cat country. I love all the big cats and learning about them. There were plenty of restrooms and places to get a drink throughout the zoo.

A lot of animals live a healthy life because of the wonderful staff and management. A great selection of species that well represents a sampling of the wonders and majesty of our wonderful natural world. If you are a nature lover then add this place to the bucket list. A sprawling park with acres and acres of well-maintained parks, play areas and picnic spots. Especially kids will enjoy this area. When you get there please take some Longer time to be here.

My husband and I went during the off season. It was great because it wasn't crowded. There is so many exhibits to see. They did a really great light display at night throughout the whole zoo. The only drawbacks were: it had rained, it was cold, and the food places were closed.

so gorgeous and the section themes are always so fun and colorful! one of my favorites is the Northwest Passage exhibit, the Chief Seattle statue and speech is just so meaningful. there's also this one old, fat seal that I always look forward to seeing. and who can forget the pandas!! we always visit the zoo whenever we come to Memphis

Had a great time at the zoo! Definitely worth the trip and even though it was a very cool day we enjoyed the adventure. Wasn't ecstatic to find out they charged $5 for parking but seems about every place does now. As we arrived the entrance was larger than expected with many stone carved statues and Egyptian motifs. Was about $15 per ticket, moderate considering. Would be nice for family day packages like I've seen in other cities. As you enter it has a similar feel to many other parks, someone taking pictures and shops as you enter. The park itself felt well kept and was large. Lots of interesting animals and exhibits that changed throughout the different sections. Overall it was entertaining and we had a good time. One thing to note was there was an extra charge to enter where the sting rays were, $2 per person and more to feed them. Maybe necessary during busy periods but seemed a little unnecessary with how busy they were.

Admission price is reasonable and the zoo is wonderful. We stayed 3 hours and saw lots of animals, but there is plenty to see if you want to make a day of it. Food is a bit expensive, but we saw people with coolers and a picnic area. If you have young kids, don't miss this!!
