ManCave Grooming

I figured I would give this new barbershop a try sense it is close to my house and the "man cave" premise seemed interesting. The owners were there when I went in and they were very friendly and great. The idea for the man cave themed barbershop is well executed and has a lot of potential to improve in the right direction. However, unfortunately, the quality of the haircut was abysmal. Joy, the barber, was very polite and well intentioned but unfortunately did not do a good job on my haircut. It was a simple fade with electric clippers on the sides and a trim on top with shears and I ended up with a zig-zag pattern of trimmed hair on top from her not doing an even job. Two weeks later you can still see the zig-zags on the top of my head.

The set up of the barber workspace was another issue because it was not very well thought out. I'm 5'11" and I had to slouch down in the chair so she could reach the top of my head. Also, the sinks for getting a shampoo were on the opposite end of the room from the barber chair.

Hopefully they will make improvements to the setup and get some better barbers but I will definitely not be going back anytime soon.

Just went there for the first time and had a great experience! They gave me complementary beverage, the atmosphere is awesome and the stylist Nicoyla did a wonderful job. Definitely going back

Absolutely love this place! I have used them twice so far for haircuts and trimming my beard and it s been fantastic! Very nice and friendly folks. I like to enjoy a cold beer when I m getting groomed!

I was accompanying my boyfriend to get his hair cut, and encountered the single rudest barber this side of the equator. He asked for his hair not to be cut short, and she blatantly ignored him, giving him a near buzz-cut while, in an almost sexual way, whispering unwanted relationship advice into his ear. She insulted me multiple times while talking to him, stating crudely that women aren t around forever, and that I wanted to keep his hair long because other girls wouldn t want him that way. She also appeared to be judging my choice of clothing, a tight, but reasonable dress, as scandalous and as enough of a reason to not treat me as a human being. She gave my boyfriend the worst haircut he s ever had, and made both of us deeply uncomfortable and upset. Unless you someone assuming they know better than you do about both your hair and your family affairs, stay away from this place. There are plenty of other barbershops in this area where you can count on the people to be decent.

Quite literally the worst haircut i've ever had. The "beard trim" was a joke. The hair cut was a joke, they didnt edge the back of my neck, trim hairs around the ears, NOTHING. I could have done better with my dogs trimmer myself. Hopefully this review saves someone elses hair, b/c like the guy who cut mine said "O it will grow back."

Yikes! Had the absolute worst experience here. The most rude employee who seemed to delight in insulting me multiple times about my son s haircut and then refused to cut it because he didn t sit still enough for her. Never smiled, never talked to my son, just insulted his haircut. Had no interest in connecting with him, or even being a descent human being. Disgusted by such an awful woman.

Coolest and chill place to get a haircut I have found my place to be! They have a pool table and Arcade game machine!! Prices are great too!

Was really excited about this place. Really cool set up and owner (I think) was super nice. Problem is, I called in at 10am to see if I came up would they be able to get me right in. Answer was yes however when I showed they only had one person working and two appts before me. Thus, what was told as a walk in get me right in situation turned into a potential 45 min wait. With beer and pool and Galaga that normally would have been fine but I had an interview to get to this the reason I called and asked if they could get me in. Recommendation...before you open a business make sure you have all your ducks in a row or you will lose every new customer, most for life.

Never thought I would review a barbershop, but this place rocks. Chris has given me some of the best cuts I ve had in my 50 years. Also, does a great job on my teen s dome as well. Highly recommended!

I have been going to this place for probably about a year now and they give great hair cuts. When I went today I got my first haircut from Ana, she couldn t cut my hair because it had very little product in it, and every time I have gone they have never worried about cutting it with product in.So she washed it out and I was charged extra for it. Then she proceeded to tell me about her 1200$ scissors, and how I could ve made them dull and ruined them for simply wearing hair product. Then I accidentally left my water bottle behind me and as I was checking out I hear her slam the bottle next to me at the counter saying that my biggest pet peeve is when my kids leaving water behind , They call me the water police at my house after I tipped her 5$. Although she did give me a good haircut, I was not happy with the way I was treated after going to this place for so long.

You can shoot pool while you wait for your haircut.

I am prior military and came here to see if they could fade good and it was better than I have ever had which I did not except not living in a marine town. Not only was my haircut good by Alicia here but she also does my wifes hair and she loves it but not as much as me since they have a pool table, little putt-putt area, tiny arcade for kids or grown kids like me, and they have complimentary soda and beer.

If you don t have an appt, it is not a good experience. The check in system said there was 0 min wait and we waited 30+ minutes before giving up and leaving. The lady at the front was very rude when we asked why it said 0 mins when clearly the wait was much longer. I ve been here several times and usually a good experience but when I brought a friend with her son and this happens, it s very disappointing.

Have been looking for a barbershop for my son. This place is the best. He was playing some video games while waiting. Nice lounge. Good haircut. Worth the extra few $ over a great or sports clips

This place is great! Spacious with good service and reasonable prices. Me and my son (2 years old) have been coming here to get both our haircuts wiped out at 1 place and couldn't be happier.

I don't usually write reviews. But Alicia gave absolutely stellar service. I've been growing my beard for awhile looked like an unkempt hobo after haircut and trim I look an entirely new man. Excellent service, super friendly staff, place is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Affordable and best haircut/beard trim ive ever gotten. If I'm ever in area again(live in Durant OK) I will definitely stop in again for a cut.

Based off the reviews i read I truly expected to get a good haircut, but this was by far the most disappointing haircut i have ever received. At first glance when i looked at the mirror at the end of my haircut i thought it was a job well done, but I was certainly in for a surprise when i got home.

My hair was poorly shaped up to the point that there is a bald indent near my temple and the neckline of my beard was as crooked as the leaning tower of Pisa! I would provide picture proof but i am honestly embarassed to post myself looking this bad.

I will never return to this mediocre hair salon disguised as a barber shop even if it meant free haircuts for life. Trust me when i say DO NOT COME HERE! It appears that they are more focused on the environment of the barber shop instead of the quality of their haircuts.

After spending the last 2 years trying to find a shop to go to for a decent hair cut, I finally found one.

After reading other reviews on Google and Facebook, I figured I would give The Mancave a shot. And I was not disappointed. I was treated to a superb cut by the very lovely Mary. She was gentle, polite, took her time, and her attention to detail was exceptional.

I will definitely be going back and recommending The Mancave to everyone I know. And, maybe one day, I will work up the nerve to get a beard trim. (Had a bad experience somewhere else after first moving here, and I'm become pretty protective of my beard ever since)

Brittney is simply amazing. Every time we have visited the Mancave I leave very happy with the haircut and even happier about the experience. She is extremely personable and goes out of her way make sure that I am happy. She is the reason Why I continue to visit the Mancave.

It s a neat place with the pool table and all that, but I ve been there twice and I ve had two horrible haircuts with two different barbers.

Fantastic people. Joy did an incredible job on my haircut without having to be told what to do or going back and making corrections. That has not happened with any salon for several years. Bob and Melissa are incredible hosts and do a great job of making you feel at home and very welcome. I loved the place and will definitely be going back.

Don't ever go for a shave, you will never see a razor. Unable to respond, so an edit will have to do. I made the appointment online as a shave, so I did expect to at least see a razor. I was a bit stunned when I was done without seeing a razor, and asked about it while 3 people were attempting to figure out how to charge me for services rendered. No one seemed it to be important enough to be answered. I needed to be somewhere and just took it as a loss, realizing I could have bought an electric razor for less than the "shave" I had just bought. Not the first mistake I have ever made, won't be the last. Just a bit surprised that no one there thought an appointment for a shave would not involve anyone certified to use a razor.

This place provides such a great experience. To be able to enjoy a beer and play some pool while you wait is unlike anything I've ever seen. The staff was friendly and the lady who cut my hair did a fantastic job. I will be a return customer!

After trying several men's barbers around the area throughout the past several years I would have to say this is definitely the best. Veronica does an amazing job on my hair and beard which is why I continue to come back time and time again. Skip the other places in town and give The Mancave a shot first! They'll have a shot or cold beer waiting for you as well!

I ve been looking for a real barber shop and not a Great or Super chain. My son and I have been getting our hair cut here for the last 5 months. Wonderful atmosphere and great staff. I recommend Ana because of great conversation and she cuts my hair perfect! Other highlights are the putting green, pool table, cold beer and TV while you wait. Last bit of advice, use the app to set an appointment for the most convienence.

Yup. Just a buzz cut and a beer please and thank you. Nice joint here. Large TV, putting green (i think i saw a pool table) and friendly staff. I did not have to sign up for an app and give them an email, just a contact number over the phone. I was sent a simple text reminder of my appointment and then greeted by a good dogo at the door. Think I found my new spot. If you are looking for a chill place go check em out . Ask for Mary, I will.

I had high hopes and gave it 3 attempts.

The place was often filled with young children and dogs playing with the various items that they ve placed there to make it feel like a man cave, but it felt more like a daddy daycare.

I came here based on recommendations from someone and was a bit disappointed. The atmosphere appeared nice, was seated right away and that s where the good stopped. The station was still dirty from the last client. There was hair left on the scissors from someone else, brown in color, definitely not mine. If i was a germ person I would have freaked but these are hard times so I went with it. The haircut was subpar. It was not blended in at all around the crown. I had to go elsewhere to have it fixed. Decent facility, but not good cuts.

Best haircut around. Fantastic service, and they have things like a pool table, chess, mini golf and a big tv for you to watch before your haircut. Worth every cent.

The first thing she ask when I walked in is "would you like a beverage while you wait." Then she offered me a Crown and Coke. This place is awesome. They have a pool table, putting green, big screen, and comfy lazy boys to hang around in. The Mancave puts Sportclips to rest anyday.

Honestly do not go here if you get a fade haircut. For some reason they do no understand the difference between a low, mid, or high fade and your head will bad. Please train your barbers to properly fade and transition the fade. I would recommend Floyd s or another barber shop bc this was not professional

I would like to apologize to the owners for posting a negative review. There is 2 of us with the exact name first and last. He reached out to the other Sergio and I thought he was just bullshitting me about calling me. Again I apologize and I recommend this place specially with my girl Veronica she has a god giving talent to make us look good.

Absolute terrible experience! I went in for a simple regular haircut and Joy was totally unable to understand what i was trying to say. The haircut was absolutely devastating. I looked so bad that i totally lost my self confidence and i had to wear a cap for weeks. I had to wait for 2 months to grow enough hair to get it fixed. Owners need to really get in some talented hairstylists if they want to stay in business.

Very cool place. Got to the store about 15 mins to close and they got me in, cut my hair and trimmed my beard. Met the owners, who also very nice people.

I usually get very nervous walking in to a barber shop I've never been too but sally made me feel very comfortable and she did a great job on my fade. I would recommend her to anyone that is looking for a fade

My little brother was looking for a new style for the start of his sophomore year in high school. He isn't the most "expressive" teen and doesn't seem to voice his opinions a lot. We happened to walk-in to look around and see the establishment and were amazed as soon as we walked in! The name says it all, "The Mancave" a place where it's meant for guys who are looking for a great cut by professional stylist!

We met Bob, the owner, and he gave us a quick tour of the shop and we felt comfortable with what we saw. He had one of the stylist, Joy, work on my brothers hair and as soon as he got off the chair, his face lit up with a huge smile! Right away he fell in love with his new look and kept talking about it the whole ride home (even still when we walked in the house). Joy knew exactly what my brother wanted and did an outstanding job on his hair! This is by far the most happiest I've seen him about any haircut he's gotten and I know both him and I will be coming back as regular customers!

This is definitely a mans place to go for a well groomed style with great and professional barbers! You will never want to go anywhere else!

There was no wait when we arrived on a saturday! Suprising huh! The hairdresser was very friendly and did a great job! They got him in and out! I would highly recommend!

Really nice place! The people here are super nice and friendly. My stylist was a little more interested in talking to her daughter on facebook than paying attention to me, but she did an excellent job on my hair and beard. I love the style as she cut it. It's on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. I went ahead and had her do my beard as well. The beard trim was okay, but not great per se. All in all, it was a good experience and if you live close by, you should visit!

The Mancave is my go-to anytime I need to get my hair taken care of or beard trimmed. The staff is very friendly, and I appreciate that the stylists are not always rushed like you see at other barber shops. Here they have time to talk to you about your needs, and then provide a great service accordingly.
If you need to wait the entertainment is also good - you can play pool or hop on the arcade machine - but mainly it's the quality of the cut that keeps me coming back.

Have you ever seen the videos on FB of people getting these amazing trims on thier beard and leaving the chair looking like they belong in Hollywood? I have. When I found this place I was ecstatic to finally have something like that in my area, a shop that specialized in men's beards. Boy was I mistaken! I asked for a trim to get cleaned up for Christmas. Nothing major just clean clean me up, right? Not at all! My stylist started off by moving the bottom line of my beard from neck to jaw completely altering my style which was a huge mistake to me but I tried to stay open minded. "She's a pro. She does this all day. Maybe she knows it will look better." I told myself. When she finally spun me around to look in the mirror, my jaw line was over an inch off from left to right and her fade on my left cheek stepped abruptly from a 4 to a 1. I allowed her to try to even me out but soon lost hope in her abilities. The owner/manager noticed our conversation and despite noticing I was having to coach her on how to fix this did nothing. I ultimately decided to come home and fix it with my good ol' Wal Mart clippers before she could do any more damage. Normally I would let the management handle this in house with some extra supervision or training for this person and go on. But for him to stand on the other side of the register not 2 feet away from me and charge me $41 for my obviously jacked up face is alarming at best.

This place is AMAZING!
With a welcoming lively atmosphere and plenty of entertainment such as billiards, a putting green and arcade. A big screen TV with comfortable leather chairs to kick back, enjoy a free beer and watch the big game, every visit is sure to be a delight.

Two months ago the same lady hairstylist with a smaller shop in McKinney who cut my hair for 10 years decided to hang the scissors up.
I made some unfortunate trips to other "buzz 'em and get 'em out" kind of shops for a couple of months. This week.I was happy to find Ana at Mancave who literally duplicated the same cut I had been getting in the past. Her commitment speaks volumes.

Recieved a bad haircut at great clips, stopped in Mancave to have it fixed and stumbled across my new go to. Owner is excellent. Really enjoyed this different take on getting a hair cut! I WILL BE BACK!

First off all the good reviews are not real
I got the worst hair cutt of my entire life here no joke, I asked for it to be cutt with scissors on top she couldn't apparently handle that and wound up having to use the clippers, the fade on my sides was completely uneven my sideburns uneven she cut the top of my head in the middle short and then what seemed like to forget to cut the rest of my hair on top so it literally looked like the great sea was parting on the top of my head I brought my son's here 2 months ago they got what looked like a chili bowl cut so this isn't the first time this has happened in my family would literally recommend the business owners to take the time to find people who can actually cut hair if you're going to charge $30 for a haircut overall I beg anybody and everyone to go just five stores down to the Supercuts or great clips that you know you'll find and will give a much better haircut.
I wish I could get my money back that's all I can think about I've got my haircut plenty of times in my life it's got to be hard to rank number one worst haircut, I've cut my own hair and I'm telling you that I do better.

Awesome, the customer service, the haircut, the price is second to none, can't beat it.

Joy cut my hair and did a fantastic job. The shop is really cool with a lot of different things to do if you are waiting for a cut.

The staff here really cares about your experience, if you don't like something they will do whatever they can

This place has a big screen tv, pool table, arcade game, and a putting green. And I was offered a beer or other cold beverage while waiting. These amenities don t compare to the friendliness of the staff, including the owner who works the front desk. Anna did a great job with the cut. One piece of advice though, make an appointment. This place can get busy with the snap of a finger. Great client experience!

I had an appointment (my first time to visit this establishment) at 2. I was checked in at 1:50. I did not hear another word until 2:25 when I went to check on the delay. No details, just a perfunctory sorry .
